StarPack Basics XL Silicone Ladle Spoon (13.5"), High Heat Resistant to 480°F, Hygienic One Piece Design Large Non Stick Soup Ladle (Teal Blue)

I bought a set of Core cooking utensils quite a while back and loved them so when I needed a ladle I wasn't sure really where to buy ones I got on Amazon and look for one from that brand. I came across this and decided to give it a try because I also needed a noodle spoon and the only way to get one of those from Core was to buy a huge set I didn't need. So I bought this and after using it for a little while decided to replace all of my Core utensils with these. I think they work better and are more comfortable to use. StarPack hit it out of the park with these. I cook nearly all the meals and I do tons of baking and I've just been extremely impressed. On some of the utensils showing the StarPack brand name is in the same color as utensil and just raised up but they are all this brand and I have others those were just the ones that happened to be drying from last night!!

As usual, the product arrived quickly and in good shape. The ladle is well made; it is easy to handle and pour from; it does not transfer heat from the bowl up the handle causing one to burn fingers; and I really likethe portion size that can be moved from pot to bowl in one motion. It's silicone, so it will withstand high temperatures too (allegedly--I have not tested this out). I have used it a few times and it has been very easy to clean. I have not put it in the dishwasher.

My only beef with the product is that the angle of the ladle handle is steeper than the pictures show it to be. I was looking to replace my carbon steel SPOON-ladle (flatter handle angle) that I use with my carbon steel wok with a non-stick silicone spoon-type ladle for my non-stick woks, but this isn't it. It does however hold 4oz., which is important for measuring and adding liquids to the wok. A high quality ladle for sure, but not what I was looking for.

I am not entirely sure how to rate this...I bought it, used it once, and loved it! It is an excellent size for a deep pot of soup in a non-stick or enamel pan. But, the next time I used it, I set it on the stove between the gas burners (where I always place my cooking utensils), and 30 minutes later noted an off smell in the kitchen. I couldn't figure out what it was until I went to stir the soup. Part of the ladle bowl edge had burned off! I was so confused as this one's predecessor (a different brand/style claimed by my 4 year old as a sand box toy) never had a problem sitting in that spot, nor have any of my wooden tools gotten scorched... So, I either had a user error of this getting too hot in where it was placed, or the silicone isn't as "good" as is claimed. I'm assuming error on my part, but I am hesitant to replace with this exact one.

I bought this to replace an old ladle of ours that broke after we'd hate it about ten years. The bright color is adorable, and this is really sturdy and well-made -- and on the heavy side. I don't see it wearing out or breaking any time soon.The spoon portion is huge, and makes ladling soups and chilis so much easier. That being said, the spoon is so large that it makes it hard to scoop the remnants out of a big soup pot, crock pot, or Instant Pot when you have to scoop leftovers out of the bowl; I have to use a smaller spoon to do this final step of clean-up. It's an OK trade-off, though, since it makes serving food so much easier.

I bought a nonstick sauce pan recently, and needed some new utensils that would not harm its nonstick finish. I bought a whisk, large serving spoon and large ladle from StarPark. So far, all have proven to be excellent choices. The whisk has stainless steel "loops" coated with silicone. It works just like an uncoated whisk, but does not harm the pan. Same with the spoon and ladle. They have imbedded steel cores to provide strength and rigidity, surrounded by a layer of silicone. The silicone forms a flexible lip around the steel core of the scoop section, allowing the tool to conform to the shape of the pan, much like a silicone spatula. You can collect almost all the food with little effort and without harming the pan. I have not had these utensils long enough to assess durability, but functionally they have exceeded my expectations.

Our old ladle let water into the handle but this one is all one piece so there is no way for water to seep into the handle and leek out later. The edges of the bowl part are a little flexible so the silicon edge can bend and get the last bit of whatever is in the pot! Cleaning it is a breeze too. I'd love to get other utensils to go with it. We use it on our nonstick and our regular pans. Get this, you won't regret it.

I do not know how to rate it since it is too large for our regular use and we have hardly used it. I wish a smaller ladle were available. I am sure it will work out fine if the size is smaller.
