how do you open this product to get what won't pump? I can see there's at least an inch more product.

If you twist hard on the top (below the pump), the top will pop off

Which smells better, the Vanilla Oat lotion or the Shea Cocoa Butter lotion?

I can only speak to the Vanilla scent which is light and clean. Scents are a personal choice, so good luck. I'm sure the Cocoa Butter would be equally pleasing.
