Perfect little gadget, easy to setup, good price
I rarely leave rave reviews for any item but this Tapo Smart Plug is the bees knees. I know this because I have bought other (more expensive smart plugs) and found them to be a nightmare. Either they didn't set up at all or didn't like not having a separate 5ghz wireless internet connection (mine is a combined signal). Tapo is this easy, open the box, open their app (available on the app store), link it to your wireless network, acknowledge the notification in the Alexa app and boom, it's working. It took me less than 3 minutes to set up the second one I bought and about 5 mins to set up the first.

Reliable. Easy to set & use
Love these. Used for Xmas lights. This is 3rd one I have purchased. Easy to set up . Easy to set schedules. You can pick different times on/off for every day if you like. First you need to download the app. NB on schedule tab you need to put in times and days to come on. Then times and days to turn off. As two kinda separate lines on the page . And confirm. On first set up and join WiFi. Do this in a socket in same room as your router. Makes WiFi set up and discovery much easier. Then you can unplug it and plug it into whatever room you want to use it. It will remember and work as you set it up. You can set times on off schedules on the app wherever they are plugged in. Even after you have moved them to place you will be using them. If, like me, you have more than one, I recommend writing the name with permanent pen on smart Plug, that correspondes with the name you give each plug in app! Or next year you will have forgotten, I did! Tbh though I found it easy to delete them individually from app. Then set them up as new. Easy to do. I have three now. So now they are marked on plugs to match what I named them on app! They work with alexa. And you dont need a separate hub.

Great product
I’ve been a Tapo customer for over a year now, and these plugs are amazing! They are easy to setup and tell you exactly how much energy they are using and tell you the monthly bill and more! They work well and they fit side by side so you don’t have to waste a plug! They are very durable and easy to control!

Tapo P100: Solid Smart Plug for Everyday Home Automation
I’ve been using the Tapo P100 Smart Plug for nearly two years now, and I recently added another one to my setup just this March. Over that time, these smart plugs have proven to be reliable, functional, and excellent value for money. The initial setup is straightforward with the Tapo app, and the integration with Google Assistant and Alexa remains smooth, making voice control simple and convenient. What really stands out over the long term is their consistent performance — they rarely lose connection or fail to respond, even after months of daily use. I use them to control various devices around my home, including fans, lamps, and a lava lamp, and the scheduling feature is a game-changer for automating routines and saving energy. The compact design is great because it doesn’t block adjacent sockets, which is a nice space saver. After two years, the build quality still feels solid with no signs of wear or overheating, and the built-in overload protection adds peace of mind. Occasionally, there’s a slight delay of a second or two when turning devices on or off, but it’s never frustrating or frequent enough to be a problem. The recent purchase of an additional plug confirms that I trust this brand and product enough to expand my smart home setup with it. One thing to note is that the Tapo P100 doesn’t have advanced energy monitoring, so if you want detailed power usage stats, you’ll need to look elsewhere. Overall, for everyday smart home convenience on a budget, these plugs hit the sweet spot — reliable, easy to use, and backed by a simple but effective app. Do note though that a smart plug does NOT turn something on and off that has multiple modes and switches it just turns it off at the same wall/plug so something that uses a remote will not work it has to have a single switch that lets current run through it or not.

Great product
Great item. I had been looking at this for a while before deciding to purchase. I was looking at other brands but decided to give this a try, great product so easy to use. Download the app and set up was about 10 mins if that. Would definitely recommend so easy to use and good for when I’m going to be late home I can just go on the app and turn the lamp on.

Easy Setup & Handy Monitoring – Great Value for £10
This was super easy to set up — best to plug it into an empty socket first, get it set up in the app, and then plug in whatever device you’re planning to control. Setup took no time at all. The energy monitoring is actually really handy. I’ve got mine connected to my work/gaming setup, and it’s been interesting to see what power it’s drawing in real time, plus how much it’s used over the past month. Also linked it with the Alexa app, so I can just voice activate it when I need to — works great, no delay or issues. I haven’t used Away Mode with this one, but it’d definitely be useful for holidays. Plug in a lamp and it’ll randomly turn it on and off to make it look like someone’s in — nice little bonus feature. So far, it’s been rock solid — no overheating, no connection drops, and no failures. Absolute bargain at £10.

Really Good Automated Plugs
These plugs are excellent and compared to the competition really cheap, especially since there is no hub to buy or connect to. If you're a bit of a coder, there is a Rust API that you can use to control them automatically which works perfectly and even pulls back the enegry use of the devices that record that sort of thing. Easy to setup (if yopu select the correct product name). I failed to choose the correct product type because I am stupid and it would not setup so I contacted support and they set me straight and were very helpful.

Good value
Works nicely. Also simple to integrate into Home Assistant in the "TP-Link Smart Home" once it's in the SmartLife app. It exposes some "LED" and "Auto Off" controls too when you enable them.
