STANDLEE HAY COMPANY Alfalfa Cubes, 40 lb

Haven't used it yet but looking forward to hunting season. Okay I used it now fantastic would use it again next year

But the horse loves it

My horses crave the Standlee Hay Company Alfalfa Cubes whenever they see me go the the stall all 3 horses compete with each other to see which one arrives first, they don't do it if it is just hay but when I put the buckets out don't get in the way as they might run over you. I'm serious about what I just said.

My Goats love it! I crush it so they eat it without waste.

The problem with this product is that it’s a lot like Gump’s box of chocolates. Never know what you will get. I ordered 3 bags thinking they would be similar to what I bought at the feed store. Sadly, two of the 3 are hard as rocks instead of fluffy and separable into bite size pieces. My horses really don’t like them when they are rock hard. I have to break them up with a hammer and sometimes even that doesn’t work and I have to throw away big chunks. I haven’t opened the third. If it’s as bad as the first two—it’s my last purchase of this stuff!! No point in paying for a treat that can choke my horses.

My horses are on a forage only diet and these cubes have been the main source of forage for them. The cubes are now hit/miss with hay string and even dead animal findings which is so unfortunate. These are so convenient but it looks like I will have to swap them to something cleaner without a binder as well.

My senior gelding has to have alfalfa at feed time. Usually I feed triple crown alfalfa but the feed store was out so I substituted with this brand.It’s awful! It doesn’t soak all the way through and is dry on the inside. If I didn’t notice before I fed it, it could have chocked my horse. Feeding now takes me even longer because I have to break apart the huge cubes by hand in order for them to soak and THEN break them again right before I feed.Will not be buying this brand again
