Great customer service and overall great product
I bought this for work and it worked great but I noticed a slight error with it. Something I ultimately could have lived with but decided to email customer service just to let them know about the problem. They emailed back and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. They are not only refunding the original purchase price, sending me an upgraded model, but also letting me keep the original unit. There are not a lot of companies that would do all this. I will most definitely purchase from Huepar again.

Laser Distance Measure 393Ft
Sorry I couldn't get distance with this unit. About 120ft was my top. The laser beam was too weak to to reach a Distance of 393 Ft. I suppose that if you were in the dark it might show. But then again to I wasn't spotting coyotes. Ever tried to use a laser @400 Ft. in the day? Sorry this flunked my expections. But it is fun to play with the cat and dog.

Works very well in low light
I would have given five stars for accuracy, but I have to add about a millimeter to correct the length when measuring from the back. Not a big deal. Accuracy seems to be very good at long distances provided it is mounted on a tripod to hold it steady. It has features comparable to more expensive units, and I was very happy to get it at the price I paid. I needed something that would measure longer distances that the Bosch GLR225 I already have, and this works very well for longer distances. Like some other lasers, it needs to be used away from bright light, so I use it in shadows, twilight, or indoors. The laser beam stays very well focused, and this probably adds to the accuracy experienced at long distances. I like the fact that it uses 2 AA cells instead of 4 AAA cells. I also like the brass female tripod mounting screw, much better than the plastic one on the Bosch I have. I would buy it again. It's a nice little unit.

Amazing technology!
I’ve put the Huepar laser distance measuring tool through a variety of tests. I am very impressed with the results. My tests focused on multiple areas including:- Distance accuracy- Angle accuracy (degrees vertical or horizontal)- Maximum distance limits in bright vs. low light conditions- Readout display clarity in bright vs. low light conditionsThe tool will also calculate area, volume, and pythagorean. These would all be calculated based on distance and I did not test these separately.Overall, the results were very impressive. The manufacturer claims an accuracy of +/- 1/13 inch and I see nothing in my test results to dispute this. The discrepancies noted below are well within the margin of error. For my tests, I used basic workshop tools including a 100 foot tape measure, carpenter’s square, spirit level, 2x4 blocks, and a tripod.Distance accuracy results2 feet (24 inches): Tool displayed 24.016 inches10 feet (120 inches) Tool displayed 120.079 inches20 feet (240 inches) Tool displayed 240.080 inches30 feet (360 inches) Tool displayed 360.000 inches100 feet (1200 inches) Tool displayed 1199.69 inches. There is a fairly large margin of error here as my tape measure was going across uneven ground. Plus it’s next to impossible to keep a tape measure perfectly straight for 100 feet. An impressive result nonetheless.Angle accuracy resultsVertical: Tool displayed 89 degrees x axis, 1 degree y axis (1 degree off in both x and y)Horizontal: Tool displayed 0 degrees x axis, 0 degree y axis (perfect in both x and y)Maximum distance limitsThe manufacturer cautions that bright light may adversely impact the tool’s ability to measure longer distances. This is understandable; it uses a laser light.Bright daylight: The tool maxed out at 122 feet. At this distance it took a few tries to get a reading.Nighttime: The tool maxed out at 408 feet. This test was performed during twilight; about 30 minutes past sunset. The manufacturer claims 393 feet max; this is impressive.Readout display clarityIndoors: The readout is very clear, easy to read with fairly large numbers and textOutdoors: In very bright conditions the readout can be hard to read. If you look at the readout at a low angle it does help.Outdoors (evening): The readout is very clear, easy to read, nicely illuminated.Overall this is a very useful, accurate tool. I’ve already used it quite a bit around the house. I love the flexibility it gives, its speed of use, and incredible accuracy. I also like that it comes with rechargeable nickel-metal batteries. As a big plus these can be replaced with two conventional AA alkaline batteries if the rechargeable batteries no longer hold a charge. I wish I would have had one of these years ago!I hope you find this information helpful.

Precise
I took multiple measurements with this distance measurer and compared the displayed value to a physical measurement with a tape measure, and this unit was dead on with each measurement. It feels solid, the display is crisp and only took 10 minutes of reading the manual to figure out how to use it. The display includes a digital X/Y reading to let you know if you are holding the unit level, and the body includes a 1/4" threaded hole for mounting to a tripod. You can change the measurement point of reference as well...measure from the rear, middle or front of the unit. This is a great value, and a well made product.

Review of usefulness for trees.
So I bought this for measuring tree heights, which it was not designed for, but it is 1/10th the price of purpose made gadgets for that. So, maybe you had the same idea. Here's what I found. Because it needs distances to do its own calculations automatically, you need to have the laser bounce at top and bottom of the tree. That's fine at the base, but it needs to be dark or at least very overcast to see the dot at the top. A tripod is also required to take top measurements. There is no way to hold it steady enough otherwise. It has a standard tripod nut though, which is great. The screen is very hard to read (dim) outside. You need to shade it to read it at all. The menu and process are intuitive but a bit tedious. It does show you elevation angles so you can do your own tangent calculations with those manually. It will save the distance and the total angle if you get distances but it won't save the angle if one of your distance measures doesn't work, so you have to write down the angle for manual calculation. So, for trees, I could see minor improvements making this great but it's not great now. It's a huge time-saver over using a tape and clinometer as it is though.

I decided to get this electronic measuring tool to help me with my car's frame repair's.This tool is awesome and comes with rechargeable batteries too!!The tool can be used in many angles and has threaded area to attach to a tripod if needed. While using the tool I noticed right away that the measurements are very accurate and repeatable. The tool has a good feel to it and not cheapo depot. All in all it works great for my needs.Hope this helps and thanks.
