The product does everything it claims, however I found that in the microwave, covering items with a lot of fluid in them tends to make them boil over. For example cooking oatmeal normally I don't use a cover, other than a sheet of paper towel. When I covered it with this, it boiled over the sides. The same thing happens with rice. I did find that it works well when covering boiling liquids on the stove, even better than using a pan lid. I cook a lot of soups and these lids keep the liquids from boiling over on the stove and they are not as hot to the touch when you remove them, but be careful when removing them not to put your hand over the vent holes or you will get burned!

First, the diameter of the holes on the covers are way too small to prevent pots from boiling over, even on low heat. The small amount of steam that escapes out the smoke stacks is cosmetic and doesn't aid the function of the cover. Second, the material is so thin and flexible that the large cover sinks down and doesn't form a tight seal on the top of the pot. Buy these if a want a novelty lid to show guests, but get something else if you want a lid for normal cooking.

Mostly I am using these to cover stuff in the microwave ... if I have a plate of food I just toss the biggest one over it - works great to heat things a smidge faster and importantly prevent splattering. Haven't tried for making rice or anything else yet.

These are adorable covers for many uses. Love that they release steam. Can also be used to store things in the refrigerator. There is a small tab on the side that prevents burning your fingers when removing from hot cooking items. A bonus is the they take up very little room for storage. Definitely recommend .

These are so superior to others I have used. The little steamship on top of each one has 3 tiny holes that allow just enough steam to escape, keeping the suction perfect and the cooking perfect. All sizes are great also.

If you cook or reheat in a microwave, these are great. Made of silicone they hold up in both the microwave and dishwasher. They dont off-gas as plastic does an the vents allow steam to escape in a measured way. We bought a second set so we always have the size we need ready to use.

Not only are the lid sizes well chosen, the material offers the perfect degree of flexibility and stiffness: the steamer lids are flexible enough to seal perfectly, yet stiff enough that they won't sag into the food you are warming. The 'cruise ship' motif with little trailing 'wakes' are a cute touch, too!

Finally!!! Pot lids that can take heat or be used in an oven, are useful on many pots (versus individual lids that match the pot), prevent boilovers by venting, and are easy to clean. Absolutely love them.
