If no electronics are supplied, why do I need a programmer?

NIKKI; I have a 2012 Soul Also, the FOB Unlock doors button plastic cover has been chipped off. If i buy these FOBs here, Can I use the same metal key to replace the blank one with? Or do I need to have the new FOB programmed still? Kia Dealer wanted to charge me $200 for it and programming it. Pls advise thanks.

is this the laser cut key or the regular cut key?

It comes as an uncut blank key. I think it’s a laser cut type.

Can i purchase this for a 2012 kia soul can i just put the new.front on the old back.?.. I just need the rubber buttons.

I bought one for our daughters 2011 Soul and it worked perfectly. However taking it apart is much simpler than putting it back together! There is a small spring that flips out the key that is very tricky to wind up with sufficient tension on it when you reassemble. Other than that, there is no programming required. Good Luck!

What kind of battery does this remote take?

I do not know, but to replace it only cost about $4.00
