A little dissapointed but it will do
Easy to put together when you follow the pictures. The written instructions were slightly confusing to someone who has no idea what they are doing. Smells of linseed oil and the box it came in was soaked in it. I had to play hunt the screw as they were loose and the smallest one was missing. Very bulky so not sure where I am going to put it. I have dammaged my hand so cannot use one that has to be screwed down so a dutch press seemed the answer. They had provided a small cheep tupperwear container that barely fit to collect the whey? I for one do not want my cheese sitting in whey when draining. I cannot get the smallest flat tray I have in the gap to do a better job as 1 not wide enough and 2 the platform has raised sides so you cannot put a tray in their flat if you wanted too. Looks like I will be cutting a piece of wood to bring it up level and figure out a draining tray to fit. Beautifully numbered on the arm but being new to this press I have No idea how to calibrate the weight using it as no instructions were included on how to callibrate the weight. I suspect you tube will come to the rescue. Over all a good price for what it is. Will be asking my very clever neighbor to make an upgrade for me .

Sturdy and Useful
We have used this press for over a year, and it has performed wonderfully. Growing up, my mother used the standard kind, and we always had to have a pile of bricks in the kitchen for her to stack on top of the press to get the proper weight. In this one, the lever amplifies the force, so we get enough weight with just a gallon jug full of water. We have had a few issues with the design. 1. It's long and a little unweildy. We end up putting it over the kitchen sink, but that makes washing dishes hard while the cheese is pressing. 2. There's no whey collection system. The whey seeps out of the pressing mechanism onto a flat plywood base. From there it goes wherever it can. We end up propping up the back on a wooden spoon so the whey runs forward into the sink. 3. That wooden base I mentioned in issue 2. There have been no problems yet, but I'm sure liquid soaking into plywood over time will eventually affect the longevity of the device. So it could be a little better, but as I said above, it has performed perfectly to date with a few tweaks to our usage.

Just okay.
Cheaply made. Looks cheap. Works ok but not worth the money charged!

Horrible
No matter how even I put my curds into these molds, the press does not push down equally. Therefore, my cheese comes out irregular every single time and the “lid piece is smaller diameter than the mold. Therefore, your cheese squirts out the sides. It really is a horrible cheese press I suggest getting something different. I wish I could return it.

What a press
This is an incredible press. I used 2 lb hand exercises weights. And the down pressure on the mold makes a great block of cheese

It could come with better instructions, but I managed to put it together from looking at the picture of it on Amazon. Don’t forget all the parts that need to go through the upright stanchions before assembling it all. I also got a bit more info from AI on the weights. It looks like it’ll do a good job of pressing the cheese curds. I will write a more detailed review once I use it.

Good press to make 1.5 kg of cheese

This Press is made of Baltic Birch plywood that is very strong! I was impressed! It came with an oil finish that was still a little wet when I opened the box. The only problems I have with it it are that the width of 7 Inches wide in the pressing area is restrictive. The height can be adjusted adequately though. The other issue is that the area where you would put your cheese mold is recessed about a half an inch. I had to stretch a board across that area so I could put a tray under the mold to catch the runoff whey. Annoying!

La presse est efficace. Cependant, il n'y a pas de poids donc il faut s'en improviser un.

I bought this press to learn how to make cheddar at home. Works great, easy to adjust weight, easily makes 1 or 2 cheese wheels around 2 lbs each without much of a learning curve. Addition of the included wooden drip tray is great. Price is good and it looks cool up on a shelf when not in use. Cons - the weight shifts when two cheeses are stacked, hard to keep it level and some adjusting is needed during pressing. It’s study but not super solid and gets a bit wobbly with heavy weight. Smaller size of press area means there’s a maximum width of cheese you can make. It’s long and takes of space when not in use.
