Stylish & tasty recipes that will impress
This is a fantastic book. Perfect for those who like to entertain, the book is packed full of stylish and original Japanese recipes that will impress and delight your guests. I also really like the insights into Japanese drinking culture that are dotted around the book. Whilst not all of the recipes are Japanese in the traditional sense, they are exactly the sort of dishes you would find served in an izakaya in Japan, some with an Asian / European twist (the kimchi/blue cheese combo is a winner!) .

Brilliant recipe book
This is the third book by this talented chef. If you cant get the ingredients locally buy them online, believe me its worth it. Follow the instructions, weights, measures and timings and you will produce lovely meals with multiple layers of taste. I have recreated many of the dishes and they continue to astound me. Im looking forward to the next book. Atsuko also runs courses from her kitchen where you can get hands on experience.

Amazing book
I attended Atsuko’s classes several times and always found her recipes precise and easy to follow. I have all her books and Otsumami is probably my favourite. It’s full of yummy and innovative dishes. I tried a couple of recipes for a party and everyone enjoyed them. I really recommend the book if you are looking for simple but delicious Japanese recipes to serve as a starter for a dinner or a bbq in the garden.

It was perfect gift for someone who loves cooking. Very straightforward, but detail enough instructions step by step. Highly recommended.

Inspirational!
Not only fun to discover all those Otsumami ideas, and yes even for Japanese person, also so easy to follow the recipe. Love her ideas and so fun to make them. Highly recommend the book!

Another brilliant book from Atsuko-san
Japanese cuisine is one of my favourites, and what better way to enjoy it than sharing with your friends. Although having said that, I have had this book a couple of weeks now and I've only made things for myself... The instructions are clear and thorough, with images of the finished product helpfully alongside. Each recipe gives you a "light bite" of Japanese culture, language, or history in its introduction so you can fully appreciate what you are making. The beginning of the book also takes you through some basics such as cooking rice or stock (probably the two most important lessons for a budding Japanese cook?), as well as other things you wouldn't necessarily think about such as drinks. The book itself is very sturdy and the paper and print is of good quality. Recommended for anyone who enjoys Japanese food, or wants to host a dinner party that's a bit different! ごちそうさまでした!

I can’t live without Atsuko’s books! This is the third of her books I own and everything I make from them is so delicious and surprisingly easy to make. I’m Japanese and have grown up eating my mother’s home cooking throughout my whole childhood. Atsuko manages to magically recreate all the traditional dishes from my childhood but with a 2022 twist. Everything turns out gorgeous too - perfect for entertaining!
