Are these hair clips much smaller than the clips I purchased last year from the same company?

Each of these tortoise metal snap clips is about 2.8 inches/ 7 cm.

can these clips be used, using only one hand?

I broke my arm, so I bought these to keep my hair up......I still needed to use the hand of the broken arm because I twist my hair before using the clip so that it stays in better. But, if you don't need to do the twist, you should be able to use them. I love them!!! =) Good luck!

Nice. They stay in place.

Happy with the quality of these hair clips and ease of use. They stay in place very well, thanks to the crinkled prong, but they do not hold a lot of hair, due to smallish size. Nice having multiples of a couple of colors.
