Well Worth Every Penny
We drive from Houston to Maine and needless to say had our vehicle filled to the gills. This rooftop pack worked like a charm. Very spacious. I wanted to buy the 23 cu ft one but it wouldn’t have arrived in time. The 19 cu ft one had more than enough space. The zipper is very high quality and sturdy. There is a flap that goes over the zipper all the way around the bag, too, to keep water and dust from sneaking in. Pack kept our stuff completely dry. My husband had to take the pack and contents down at each overnight stop along the way because we didn’t want to risks thieves jacking our stuff. It was easy enough to put up and take down, including lofting and unloading the contents, in about 10 minutes each time. Our vehicle already had rails on top so installation was extremely intuitive and simple. Would absolutely buy again, though it’s still in pristine condition after 2,000miles, so we probably won’t have to!

It does what it says!
I bought this because I’m going to be some extensive traveling in North America over the next 2 years; but the first thing I had to do was make an 1100 plus mile trip down to Central Florida to pick up a new small camper I’ll be towing with my CUV. I drive decent into the path of a major tropical depression that lasted several states… and to my surprise there was MINIMAL water just inside the very front of the cargo bag. No cargo bag can ever be 100 % watertight like a hard shell… and I did PLAN for this bag to not live up to its description by putting anything I was worried about inside lawn n leaf bags just in case. Also, I did not have this completely full, which basically allowed for golds in the side walls, which caught the heavy rain. The good news: Only I opened it to sun n air, it dries rapidly. None of my belongings had any damage whatsoever. But more than that: I’d you use this with your cars’ side rails( NOT talking cross rails, which would elevate that bag) you CANNOT hear this thing. It comes with cleverly placed Velcro flaps that you fold up the excess straps into and secure tightly, so NO straps flapping in the wind either. If you follow directions and put this on correctly, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! The base of the bag did not move around, did not scratch my roof, and it really holds a lot. Also, they suggest you can add additional waterproofing spray/products, and I may do that in time. Also like that it comes with a little combination lock to lock the zippers and a carrying/storage bag.Good product, quality built, stood up to some very severe weather, and I highly recommend.

When used correctly, this bag is absolutely amazing!
Our family of 4 took our first long road trip for vacation. Teenage boys needed the space inside our mid size suv to be comfortable, (and quieter), so we had crossbars installed on our GMC terrain, thinking if all else failed, we could rent a cargo container. I must have read several hundred reviews on both soft/hard shelled containers. We were going away for a week so we needed plenty of room for luggage and of course, the chance of driving through rain/storms had to be considered. We immediately steered away from the hard shells due to the significant difference in price and the fact that we won't use it more than 2-3 times a year. Ordered this based on all of the above. I have to say, if we had to do it all over, we'd have gladly paid more for it. We ended up driving through over 10 hours of consistent and TORRENTIAL downpour! We were concerned during quick stops as the outside seemed soaked, however... Everything inside was completely dry. I should mention though that the rails/crossbars allowed us to strap it very tightly in a way that it sat up, off the top of the car. I can't say how it works strapping through the doors, but if you do this and might drive through rain, I would recommend using something in the bottom of bag that could get damp. Lifting up everything else half an inch or so, just in case. Also STRONGLY recommend that you practice loading the bag on the ground to get a good idea of how you want to arrange things. Another plus for us is that while not in use, this giant bag folds up very nicely into the bag it comes with. Using very little space in storage. Again, we WERE SO impressed with the quality of this product. Just be sure to follow the instructions on how to pack it precisely. The only downfall is really an inevitable one... My husband, who stands over 6 ft tall, was drenched in sweat and exhausted each time he got up there to load/unload. There seems to be an art to loading it just right, but he had it figured out by the 2nd time. (thanks to the practice I mentioned) Lots of straps though and it's work, but WELL worth it!
