good depth of flavor, not as spicy as I would like but it's a good deal for the quantity. this specific brand works great as a base for dry rubs or in marinade as the spice level doesn't drown out other flavors

Mexican restaurant food in Utah is universally mild. I wanted something to spice it up without adding to the taste, like bottled hot sauce does. I tried some other things, but found they changed the taste, too. I finally ordered this McCormick Culinary Ground Cayenne Pepper as a last resort. Wow! It's perfect. It's hot yet adds no discernible taste to salsa or other food. Warning—it's very HOT/SPICY! Use only a little at a time and test before adding more.

I love adding some extra spice to my foods at the end since my wife doesn't like spicy. This has been a good way. Good on almost anything, I even add to eggs in the morning!
