ASDAWN A1847 Battery Replacement Compatible with Apple Watch Series 3 38mm

Encountered some initial challenges while attempting to separate the display from the case using the provided tools. Following the iFixit guide's suggestion of a curved blade for display separation posed an issue, as the kit lacked this specific tool. Resorting to a creative solution, I employed rice bags heated in the microwave to soften the adhesive, though two of the edges suffered minor cracks during my initial attempts with a razor blade and the provided separator. Persistence paid off when I switched to a hobby knife with an smb#22 blade, successfully prying the display apart on my second attempt. The battery replacement process proved relatively straightforward. Installing the pre-cut adhesive seal, provided in the kit, was accomplished without disconnecting the display connectors. A careful application involved removing one side of the backing and delicately maneuvering it over the display, onto the gasket mating surface with the provided tweezers. To address the cracked glass edges, a small amount of clear silicone sealant was applied. While initially, the battery took some time to display charging progress, experimenting with different charging bricks revealed that fast charge ones were more effective. Following an overnight charge, the battery appeared to be stuck at 93%. After reseating the charger multiple times, it eventually reached a full 100% charge. Remarkably, the battery health now registers at 100%.

I spent time to take out the old battery and install the new only to find out the New battery is completely dead. It just kept rebooting over and over again. I reinstalled the old battery and it works fine (with the low battery life). Gets to the watch face screen etc. The Apple Store only charges $79 to replace the battery. So I'll just return this kit and pay the fee to apple. Unfortunately NO. Because the tape glue to install the screen back on is also defective. Thus the screen can't even be put back on. At this point I have to use nail glue and hope apple doesn't notice. Otherwise I will have to buy a whole new watch.

Solid way to save some cash if you need a new battery. It comes with all the tools you need. The process isn’t too hard, but requires patience. The new battery works great and gives you the same life as a brand-new watch. Just be careful, as one wrong move could damage your device. Good for DIYers, but not for the faint of heart!

"Quality of battery itself is probably not good. The kit works, I had some extra tools lying around that would have worked better but what they provide is enough. The watch is hard to open no doubt about that but its how its made. Once you get it open without damaging anything the rest is easy, replaced the battery and got it working. However after about a few days of use I didnt wear it for a while and the battery died any attempts to recharge it have proved unfruitful so the battery is done." Battery started working again after sitting for a long time I tried a different charger (did this initially with different cables and boxes) and let it sit. All of a sudden a day or so later I noticed that the watch was on and fully charged!

No matter how much I heated the edge, it was next to impossible to get a very thin device between the glass and case of my iwatch 5. The screwdriver provided did not fit the screw well and was magnetized so that it held the screw sideways and would not hold it vertically for replacement. To add insult to injury, the male connector on the battery would not mate with the female part on the watch. I finally gave up and will use a technician next time.

Repair was pretty straightforward, although the tool provided was not thin enough to get behind the watch lens.
