Excellent, plump, moist vanilla bean!
Impressed with this vanilla bean. It arrived fresh, plump and moist. I am using it to make vanilla extract with the addition of vodka. The seeds were easy to scrape from the pod, which was simple to cut in half, unlike a dry vanilla bean. Unable to comment on taste yet as I have just begun the infusion process, but I noted the lovely vanilla fragrance as I sliced the bean in half lengthwise.

Great Beans!
I am picky about my vanilla beans and go for the best that I can find. I ordered the Grade A Tahitian beans from French Polynesia and they arrived sealed nicely in a vacumn package. I find the Polynesian beans to be the best due to their curing process and are simply marvelous for making vanilla extract, ice cream, etc. I used some beans for extract a year ago and the aging of the extract beats anything one would find in a store. These are not cheap but I simply love them.

Pure Tahitian Beans
I have purchased 4 different types of vanilla beans to make my first batch (ever) of different vanillas. I was happy when I came across Tahitian vanilla beans grown in Tahiti rather than PNG. Upon making the different batches on Nov. 15th, of them all, the beans from Tahiti is very light in color compared to the others. It will be easily another month before being able to taste the differences for a true comparison. But the color of the beans and the packaging was great and I would buy from Slofoodgroup again. UPDATE (1-13-19) Have purchased two more of the Tahitian Vanilla Beans grown in Tahiti and added to the original bath. Ratio in general has been 2 oz vodka to 1 bean on all my other batches and the pure Tahitian is still a bit lighter so added the extra beans to up the flavor just a bit more given that this particular bean is light and flowery in taste..

Search No Further
Recently, premium vanilla beans have been in short supply and if you can find them, the prices are obscene. After finding Slofoodgroup and verifying the Tahitian beans are actually from Tahiti, I chanced an order.Using the very best beans in my collection to compare, I was astonished by the quality of these beans. Moist, supple, plump and absolutely the best aroma I’ve ever found.I had questions about shipping and they were answered promptly (on a Sunday no less). If you take the time to read why these beans are different you’ll be better prepared for there higher moisture level. Slofoodgroup is my new best supplier!

Fantastic, Awesome, glossy, soft, aromatic, and perfect.I once made the mistake, due to time constraints to order from a different vendor, because they could get some to me in a rush.Nope, Nope, NOPE.SlowFoodGroup has the best beans, the best service, and the best staff! The beans were luscious, and I will NEVER make the mistake of ordering from another again.. I will just have to learn to plan better.I recommend these guys without a single reservation!

Great scent, great quality vanilla!
Amazing scent, it permeates through the plastic bag! Sent to some friends as a gift, they absolutely love it. I taught them how to make an extract, so a few beans can last them a whole year in terms of baking needs. This smells amazing, like an old-world ice cream shop I used to visit as a child. Top quality, no doubt. The size of the beans is two to three times bigger per bean than the Madagascar beans, so you're getting quantity and quality.

Wow
Although the smell wasn't as strong as I wanted it to be, it's moisture content was high. I just wish it had a few more seeds inside. It had moisture but lacked the amount of seeds other vanilla beans had. However, it is grade A and I definitely recommend it. It gives a deep, slightly cherry like flavor to my flans. Delicious!

Extremely Disappointed.
The vanilla pods are overly saturated. They appear to have been steeped in some sort of liquid to make them appear plump and full. It’s almost as if they were already used to make vanilla extract. They’re a pale brown and soggy, not the firm dark brown they should be. Unlike most vanilla varieties, Tahitian beans are not “killed” or cured by steeping, so there should be no reason for them to be this wet. I can only imagine how fast they’ll mold. The beans are weak in taste, not floral, because of the waterlogged pods. The product image displayed to lure you to buy doesn’t even remotely reflect you’re going to receive. In appearance nor in weight. After weighing, I didn’t even receive a full quarter of a pound that I paid for. I’m extremely disappointed that I’ve wasted $135 for 22 beans that I’m not going to use. Pass on this product.
