Does the satin finish last, and does it rust? THanks.

I bought it two years ago, and it is showing rust at the base on both sides (like at the edges of the sponge. The last one I had lasted years, but I unfortunately don't know the brand.

if it is polished stainless steel, why chrome plated, is it realy stainless steel?

It's chrome plated with a polished stainless steel look. That would be a miss print on amazon.

Problem: description says it's both "polished stainless steel" and "chrome plate". Which is it? Stainless doesn't rust, chrome does.

Initially mine didn't stick very well either. However, I read somewhere online to put Vaseline on the suction cups. And it worked! Maybe try that before replacing them?
