Since the over/under can only shoot 2 rounds at a time, this gives it a bit more punch and mean looks. It was somewhat difficult to pull it over the stock of the shotgun but after struggling for a few minutes, it finally sleeved over and sits nice and tight. Functions just fine keeping the shells in position without problem. Anyone wanting to hold more ammo while running a clay shooting session will find this to help keep the flow going for 5 reloads. Any more sessions can make use with a carry handle ammo bag. Good value for the money given what is provided. Durability appears consistent but will be seen as time and use get added. Speed up your loading just a little more than usual with this add on.

Very tight fit and does the job well

As advertised. Not as good a fit on a Mossberg 590 as I would like, but it will work.

Shells fit well in the sockets. It holds them well. Not to loose. Not too tight. Just right. They slide out great. Good to keep a few types of ammo in for home defense depending on the threat.

I bought this handy shell holder for my home defense shotgun. It fits the stock snugly and the shells are quite secure as well. It also doesn't seem to interfere with the operation of the firearm. If the worst ever happens I'm sure I'll be happy to have 8 more shells close at hand. FYI: Make sure and install the unit from the barrel end of the firearm!

I would say this buttstock shell holder is ok for what it costs, but for me it had two issues. First, in order for it to be tight, I had to slide it almost all the way to the back end. In that position, the skinnier side towards the front of the shotgun still wasn't tight. There is a little ripple like wavey bacon at that edge. I am using this on a Maverick 88. So, the 'fit' isn't great, at least on my gun. Second, in order to get it to the position just mentioned, it has to slide over the mount point for a sling. So, in order to make that work, I had to get it into a position I was happy with, then cut a small hole and let the mount pin stick through. Then I could re-attach my sling. Ideally, I should take the entire thing off, and melt the fibers where I had to cut the hole, so it doesn't begin to fray. In summary, its cheap, it works for the most part, but don't expect anything great. If I end up needing another one, I will look for something better.
