This diamond side cutter is great for creating the "quilt" effect on cakes...and b/c it's small...you have better control...:1. Make sure the bottom of the cutter (holding it vertically) is touching the board and keep your hand straight - press2. Continue around the cake and match up the sides as your roll/press the cutter around the cake - press - lift - continue3. When you get to the back...you may have to hold the cutter slightly off the cake...to match up the back as best or you can add your own line with a ruler if it doesn't match up...you get the idea4. Use another tool to make a "cross-mark" off each intersection of the diamond pattern to mimic the effect of fabric...You can add sugar pearls, royal icing balls or small flowers in each intersection...and the look of the cake is wonderful.I saw this product demo'd on a Youtube video by "Zoe's Fancy Cakes"...and I had to get one...I love using this tool...You gotta get one or two...once your friends see how it works...they will want one, too :)
