Work as you would expect them to and thy are very simple to use. No negatives at all. Don’t know if they are accurate or not, but they work as described. Anxious to see if garden improves this season after using them. Definitely worth a shot.

I like that this kit did provide the needed information I needed about the soil for my sweet potato patch. The test procedure was simple enough and the results easy to determine. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I haven't found out how to purchase refills for the essential capsules needed for each test. Furthermore, I find the product description a little misleading (perhaps unintentionally) because it states it's enough for 20 tests. They DON'T mean you can test for Nitrogen, or the PH, 20 times. No, what they provide is 5 capsules for each type of test. So you can only test for one element 5 times. That wouldn't bother me if Amazon listed refills next to the same product. I couldn't find refills at all on Amazon, or on the manufacturers website. Does that mean you have to buy the entire kit after only 5 tests forany one element? That would be a huge wasteof plastic for the environment. If you have more than one garden bed, 5 tests wouldn't last long, especially if you want to retest after soil corrections. I will update this review if I can find refills. I have emailed the company directly. Another reason I substacted a star is because the tiny gel capsules are hard to open and pour/aim the contents into a tiny 1/2" opening. The test would be invalid if you missed and some of the contents spilled outside the reservoir. A shame when you only would ha4 more capsules to use!

I just received this product today, so I can't speak on effectiveness or quality but I will speak on my first impressions of this specific product, what it contains and explain how it works. I bought it fearing that my homemade chunky soil mix was lacking sufficient nutrients and because I can't afford an expensive comprehensive lab test, and because this one has fairly decent reviews, I decided to try it out. In this kit has 4 test component: 1. Acidity test (pH test) 2. Phosphorus test (P Test) 3. Nitrogen test (N Test) 4. Potash (K test) Each test is color coded and is accompanied by a pill that's color coded as well. The directions are very clear and detailed, but the pH test is the only test that gives it's results rapidly, you h to wait 24 hours (it's explains why in the instructions) My I don't have a proper pH tester so I can't speak on it's effectiveness but the results were indeed "rapid" 🤷🏾‍♀️ I will update after use thorough use

This is an economical way to test your soil. Perfect for my small vegetable gardens. I like that it has 5 tests for each feature: PH, N, P, and K. The PH test vial is a bit different than the other three, so you have to follow directions carefully to get accurate results. The kit includes recommended PH and nutrient levels for different plants. That was very helpful.

It’s a PITA. Going out to the multiple garden beds, trying to scoop the right amount of soil, making sure to not touch the insides of the capsule, all while trying to not tip the test over. It is worth it to just pay for a real lab to test the soil. That way you’re not having to do it multiple times. Also, you only get 5 capsules for each test, it’s not 20 PER test.

I have clay soil so for 3 tests (not PH) i let it sit about 20 hours but the soil was not really separating from the water so i skimmed the somewhat clean water from the top. Test results showed ok PH and Potash. But tests showed I have no nitrogen and minimal phosphates. I have not been able to grow my tomatos last few years so I knew something was wrong. According to the internet i just need some aged manure to fix the problem. This was a useful product but very messy to use.

I was very keen on using this test to test my soil here in Australia. Unfortunately only the K one triggered a result. Tried it twice (once with really cloudy and once with less cloudy water.) I find it hard to believe that my luscious well maintained and well fertilised lawn is completely devoid of N+P.

The testing kit works very well- it would be even better if replacement test capsules were available
