I recently purchased the Vandelay kettle from Amazon India, and I must personally mention that this is a really amazing product and true its value for money. It is also an affordable Kettle at the current price and beats every branded product. It is the perfect 1.8L capacity kettle ideal for any home or office with a suitable cable of 2 feet in length. The best feature is the Auto cut-off system and its dry boil technology that protects the kettle very well which is not easily available in other known brands. The kettle comes with a 1 year warranty and the Vandelay support team did a follow up to confirm my warranty period, which is very essential when you buy any electronic product to ensure you have full warranty. Vandelay's after-sales service is amazing, and the customer care person, Ms. Chandni who attended to us after purchasing the product from Amazon India was very very helpful and conversant with the technical know-how of the product. Chandni has been very helpful throughout and did all the necessary follow-ups to ensure the customer is fully satisfied with the product. One has to totally discard any negative review that may appear on this platform regarding to Vandelay Kettle. I would recommend other customers to purchase this particular Vandelay kettle as the product works extremely well and is very affordable, durable, and works better than any branded product. Before i write any further, read the next couple of points first. Its going to be a long review, i'm a writer, we want to win a Pulitzer prize for reviews even. I doubt anyone will reach the end. lets see. 1) Always, always, ensure that there is some water left behind in an electric kettle. 2) Never leave any kettle dry and empty. (It shoud be in your instruction manual highlighted first, Moonlight.) 3) So boil atleast 100ml+ extra water, cost doesn't matter more than safety 4) Buy this lovely kettle while its there, im sure its going to be sold out in a week. Now you attention deficits can head on to the Cart. Buy it and Enjoy. Yeh kettle hi hai woh, joh aapko chaiye tha, joh aapke kaam aay, dikhti bhi sahi hai, surakshit hai. Aur kya chaahiye. Review likhna na bhooliyen. Vandelay! Now for you time passers. There is a horrific story behind my quest to find the perfect, safer kettle. not a Trivial matter. I have had at last count more than 10 electric kettles. if i add my dad's collection, then above 12+. So been there, done that. Until i settled on a Bajaj electric kettle (0.5) steel body... cute little portable, little black dress at the bottom. it was ideal for a couple, wife also didn't object. I am a tea connoisseur, and a tea- aholic among other things. Have warm water on waking up, and after meals. SO i didn't need a small kettle, always get a larger kettle than you think. This Vandelay model is just the right size, remember if you fill the kettle to the top it will ofcourse bubble over, so you need double capacity than you imagined. Besides. Won't you ever have guests over. Or kids?! Size taken care of. The mechanics of the thing. Its really a no brainer. The fit and finish is like comparing a Japanese car to a European one. Compare the closing of the lid to thudding sound while shutting a car door. The soft plastic touch points, the textured exterior. It wont burn your hand if you touch the body, as in the stainless steel ones. And yeah, some of those will have ugly dents too eventually. It's also very good looking. I put aesthetics high up there because that was not even something i ever considered in my 12 darlings over perhaps 30 years or more. Next efficiency. It does what its supposed to. Im impatient and she just knows me. I dont know what else is imp. May be ergonomics. I always believe the cord lenght should be longer, and thus the cord should be thicker and Braided with that rope type material thing. But for some reason, short hair err, cord is becoming the preferred style. And if you were still wondering... Earl Gray is preferred by us, but we tend to end up doing a lot of mix and match, and enjoy exotic blends. And you will too, because she, i mean, Vanda is forgiving. Now for the money story. My house could have nearly burned down because of a stupid mistake. A branded but cheaper electric kettle caught fire, smoked up the room and nearly burned a whole stack of newspapers and curtains nearby which could have soon escalated. i have always had a fire phobia, so had a portable fire extinguisher at hand. Needless to stay, things got into control and contained to one corner of the room, but these things have plastic parts and can catch fire. Keep then in a commonsense area. It caught fire because: 1) The kettle was empty 2) The lid of the kettle was not on 3) The kettle was unattended (but thats the whole point , a watched pot doesn't boil!) The kettle powered up accidentally as it was on a parallel plug point. Now, i am being reminded by Bezos sir, that short stories sell better than Novels, so i ask for some liberty. Despite a newly developed phobia for Electric Kettels, i bought a Kent Glass kettle, thinking it to be the best looking one. And Kent would be safer. But its handle broke and spilled on my hand and got a nasty burn. It was just a month or so old, claimed warranty, but nearly a year later they have not replied to queries, even though they took the broken one back. The last review i wrote on Amazon was a tirade against Kent Kettles. they are simply dangerous. This one, Vandi however, instils confidence. Feels solid and just good to hold, and ive used her for a while now. Daily, atleast 2-3 times some days, and no more phobia of leaving unattended. And will recommend to anyone unconditionnaly. But i don't know a lot of Kettelites. Yes you guessed right, the one that burned was the Bajaj, small stainless steel one, and there are a lot these types of models, some people try to use it in trains also. But it wasnt the product's fault. In this Vandelay, its big andwell proportioned , so will always store some water as a reservoir. The lid is fixed and will always be there to cover. I should have said it right in the beginning. "Just buy it with your eyes closed". But then, how would you know the real story that led to this alliance. You can consider this a review written under an influence, but it was not monetary. Someone in this company took the decision to bring this product to indian markets, even at low margins (cause its really cheap). i owe a debt of gratitude, and thus took the time and energy to take my thougts to you similar minded Kettelians. (is there a word for Kettle afficianados?) And finally.. i was a copywriter by trade, so: "Hurry, get this while stocks last. Not everyone will read 2 pages of Copy!!!" BUY NOW!!!. (no discount deals available, but avoid buying at higher prices when Vandeley guys read this.) P.S: this review was long and overdue. I have bought this. Got it delivered today. Gave return order today itself. I have gone by the postive reviews. In facts I have bought 2 Havells Aqua Plus 1.2 litre Double Wall Kettle from Amazon. I got them for Rs. 1199. That Kettle is best. However, when I checked back for another purchase, the seller has hiked the price. That is why I looked for another option and ended up buying this. My choice proved wrong. I should have paid little more for a decent kettle. This Kettle is of poor quality. The kettle body gets hot. The plastic used is very poor quality. the Steel used for upper part is razor thin. The kettle would not stand long.

I recently purchased the Vandely electric kettle, and it has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. It heats water quickly and efficiently, saving me time in the mornings. Overall product is good. However there are certain dissatifiers 1. Chord provided is short 2. When i purchased, it was mentioned 1.7 lrts, but product box says 1.8 3. I recommend to buy letter capacity like 1 ltr, else with full capacity water its difficult to lift 1.8 jug.

Which makes it easy to pick up and put on it. 6) Its outer body do not get warm as it has two layers. Inner steel layer is different from outer layer which is diamond shaped design white in colour. 7) It has very sterdy handle which gives perfect grip to grab the kettle. 8) It has a red indication light in the ON mode
