Very comfortable for wide feet
Targhees are the only boot for me because I have wide flat feet and these come in a wide fitting. They're comfortable out of the box and need no breaking in (I take the insoles out and use custom orthotics because of my flat feet and knee problems). They're lightweight as well which is nice but still have good hiking boot soles to cope with rough stony paths and the ankle support is good without being oppressive so you can drive a car in them without discomfort. The lacing system works very well, nowadays I simply use the lacing pattern that they come with but, in the past I've changed it with success. They only have two speedgrips but you don't need more - once they're laced on they stay laced and there is no aggravation with the laces coming undone as the speedgrips take the tension off the knot. They're grippy on wet grass and mud (I live in Nofolk so it's all zoil and grass) and even better on stony stuff when I go on holiday. My last two pairs have been very good for waterproofing, before that the waterproofing gave up before the boot did and the Targhee 3 seems generally more durable than the previous Targhee 2, in particular the rand now protects the boot from splitting. The only thing is that I need a new pair after 9 months as they simply wear out - the soles wear down so that slipping on wet grass starts to become an issue and the uppers start to fail around the rand. However the Thing is that I wear these every day for three dog walks seven days a week right through the year (yes they get a bit sweaty in high Summer but they breathe pretty well). As I clock around 4 miles per day that's around 1,100 miles so I don't mind having to replace them. If you just used them at the weekend and on holiday they'd last you years.

DO NOT PURCHASE
These boots are absolute rubbish. See photo attached. 1 star as not able to submit with zero stars Not even 3 months of daily walking with the dog over the fields and woods. Split and detached from sole. Wet feet when only walking through damp grass. I have been out and purchase another make locally.

Very comfortable and reliable
Very comfortable, reliable and waterproof boot ideal suited to Alpine hiking as proved for 2 weeks in High Tratras in very variable weather conditions from sunny warm conditions to slippery rocks and mud. Wide fit was ideal for my feet 👍💯

Comfortable but NOT Waterproof
They seem very well made. The Toe is wide fitting and they feel comfortable under foot. Well padded around the ankle. Don't know where the water is getting in but they are definitely not waterproof especially on wet grass or walking in the rain.

Nice boots
Nice service. Product feels great. Get back to you regarding durability in a year....but sure it will be excellent.

Very poor quality
These boots while very comfortable started to crack and fall apart after two months of normal wear. I contacted the seller twice to request a refund and was ignored. Amazon are usually excellent to deal with and replace faulty items immediately. This seller does not treat customers correctly.

Love these
Keen boots are not durable, but they are comfortable. This is the 4th pair I have bought, but because I cannot find anything else that looks as good and feels as good as these I suffer their lack of durability and keep going back to them.

Ich trage diese Art Schuh gern. Allerdings habe ich jetzt nach 8 Monaten festgestellt, dass das Oberleder des Schuhes aufreisst. Habe ich hier noch eine Chance auf Ersatz?

I have bought ( and loved) Keen products for 40 years. Several years ago I bought the Targee mid height boots. They did not seem to be of the quality of past Keen purchases. Near the end of the 1 year warranty, they began to "squeek" , made a noticible noise when walking and within the 2nd year the tread began seperating. I was beyond the warranty, but customer service did give me a discount on a new pair of Targee III boots. The new boots are nice and comfortable, but they make a very noticible crunching noise with each step. I hoped that I would stop noticing it or that it would go away with time. No such luck! Every step is quite audible and it is just more irratating with time. I bought them in 2024 so no more warranty for me! Hate to leave Keen but enough is enough! My advice.......listen carefully!!

I like these boots. They fit well for my wide feet and are comfortable with the aid of a new insert, but that is because of my failing arch. My issue is the gluing of the upper to the sole is not consistent. So much so that this particular pair I received had spots that weren't glued right out of the box. I fixed that myself, which I'm happy I can do. But then the next issue arises before the year is up. That being: the upper cracks and seperates from the sole which renders it no longer waterproof. This happens the fastest where the toes bend, then works its way towards the arch of the shoe. This is my second pair of this exact boot and it has happened both times. One time bought in a store and the second time bought on Amazon, so it's not a knockoff issue or anything like that. I wish they could fix this problem, but for the price, I will have to look elsewhere.

I purchased these for a trip to the Acadian salt marshes in Nova Scotia. They were (are) perfect! Size, fit, comfort: They feel really good. I bought a wide size and they are just perfect. My toes feel so good. Plus, they lace up tight and snugly where it counts. No shucking and sliding … no blisters or rubbing. Perfect! Waterproof: I spent days slogging throughout ancient dykes and present day tidal flats. “Muddy” doesn’t begin to describe it. Wet. Slippery. Gooey. No problem-o! Yes, they got muddy and stained, but they cleaned off simply and easily with a hose. So, my trip is over. Now what? I wear them when cutting trees, while at the shooting range, while hiking in the woods, while walking my property. They’re excellent. They help me protect my ankles (abrasion and turning), they provide sure-footedness, and they help me keep my grip - even in muck and mud. They’re not “warm,” I didn’t want that, but I’m sure they’d be great for shoveling the driveway in the winter. If I lost these boots I’d reorder them in a heartbeat.
