Q: Does it come with a Screen Mesh?

It does come with a mesh but it is about 1/2" x 1/2", so not tight but functional

Q: Some reviewers complain that it did not have a screen despite the description clearly stating it does. Does it have a screen now?

Yes this is a screened 6” aluminum flapper style vent. The screen is similar to window screening. It will NOT work for a dryer vent since the screen will plug very quickly and no way to clean it with out removing it. I purchased for the outlet of a down draft gas cooktop vent that requires a 6” fire resistant venting system.
