Dog Man is exactly what you’d expect from the creator of Captain Underpants—goofy humor, over-the-top action, and a comic book style that kids love. It’s a great pick for reluctant readers because the mix of illustrations and simple dialogue makes it super engaging.That said, it’s not for everyone. The humor leans very silly (which is the point), and the grammar is intentionally off in some places, which may not sit well with parents looking for more polished reading. But for pure fun and getting kids excited about books? It works.
