Great travel & emergency light
I have bought 4 of these. I love that they work as a night light and a flashlight. These are great if you lose power. Can turn it off, turn to on or put on auto. Has built in rechargeable battery and wall plug folds in for easy packing in luggage.

I LIKE these a LOT! Good features and good value. Will buy again!
I compared a few of these before purchasing this set of 3 Blackout Buddies. 1. It's both an auto-on, or always on night light. It swivels so you can direct the light. 2. It's an emergency LED flashlight and it is REALLY nice and bright! 3. It is a bright emergency light that comes on automatically when the electricity goes off. This is mainly why I bought these; for a storm, or other emergency power outage situation so I wouldn't have to try to navigate my home in pitch black darkness. I leave them plugged in the wall in different rooms. If the power goes out, they come on and I can pull one off the wall and have a really bright flashlight to use! They need no batteries, as they stay charged up plugged in. If you don't want a night light, you can just turn it off; the bright emergency light will still come on if power goes out. These work really well; have all the features I wanted and more. What's not to like? Would be a great present for older persons especially, but for anyone really! Would most definitely buy these again!

Seems Good
Typical night light output, brighter beam when used as emergency light or flashlight. Prongs don't fold up but that's OK with me for occasional use. The swivel serves me well because I have it plugged into my kitchen island where the outlets are placed horizontally. I find it irritating that Eton doesn't publish the lumens for this product. I searched high and low but found nothing. However I bought another power outage light at the same time and I would say the brightness is about the same. So I would guess 3 to 5 lumens for the nightlight and 20 lumens for emergency/flashlight use. In a long term power outage you want to have some brighter lights, but the beauty of this one is that it comes on automatically when the power goes out so you're not left in the dark and you have a flashlight to go find your other lights and supplies. It did not come with a manual or any instructions. Based on a video from the manufacturer, it sounds like the power outage light function will work even if you turn the night light off, but I haven't tested that because I am keeping the night light on.

Good for automatic night lights in darkened hallway
They are an off-white, rather than a "bright white", plastic case. They fit nicely on a wall socket, about the same size, they closely hug the wall and can rotate the direction of the night-light beam in a 360 degree plane, which casts about 4 to 6 feet of illumination. This would make sleeping difficult if you plan to put in your bedroom. I needed these (got three) for hallways and they work great, coming on fully when you unplug from the wall (that's why they are good in a power outage as well). If I am doing some chore indoors where I need a flashlight they are handy to use, very bright for closeup work. I wouldn't use them in place of a normal large (3 C Cell battery type) flash for use outside at night. The light is the typical "cold" LED light as opposed to a "warm" incandescent-like color, but that probably makes illumination a little better in the middle of the night. These replaced a set of older similar purpose lights which stuck out a lot more from the wall, and my roombas routinely did battle with them (custom house, custom horizontal wall sockets), and these do not have that problem so another positive for me. Only had them a few weeks so the prompt for stars pertaining to "longevity" is kinda misplaced. I'm giving 5 stars for that simply because when I unplug one that is fully charged it lasts for more than 45 minutes as a flashlight. Who knows how long they will last in two years? <shrug? For the price, a good buy for me.

Great Must-Have Light!
What a fantastic little light! Just plug it in and choose whether you want a night light or not. That's it. It does come close to blocking the other outlet, but on my outlet model, there is clearance. The night light is nice and bright, works in bathrooms, hallways, stairs or garages. It may be a bit bright for bedrooms (personal opinion) depending on location. I liked it so much, I bought another 3-set.

Ever handy night light and emergency light when power go's out...
I really like these Red Cross night light and flash light. They come on when it's dark and out in day light. I got 3 of them one in kitchen, one in living room and one in bed room. Makes a great night light. And it's small flash light. Leave it plug in to electric outlet...

Functionality
These are wonderful for the dark spots when the electricity goes out and easy to use. We really like the fact we can use it as a flashlight too. I purchased a set for each of my children, and they too really like them.

Compact nightlight, perfect emergency flashlight
I have always used emergency flashlights that normally charge/function as night lights on normal occasions in our son's bathroom since he first started to potty train. The power doesn't go out super often but we do have several powerlines in an alley where the trees rarely get trimmed by the city anymore. It was a brighter wider beam flashlight than I expected for the price and far more compact than our previous brand one. It doesn't look very impressive in the daytime but it is when you need it. The automatic on when the power goes out has really helped our son to not be so afraid during power outages...well at least not while using the bathroom. Highly recommend these for all households especially rooms with no windows like our son's interior small bathroom, since there is no possibility of natural light helping out during power outages. I've even recommended these for work places where there are few windows. It doesn't block the other outlet from use and it's super light weight so it doesn't cause a weight issue plugged into a 3way plug adapter (just of course follow fire protocol/instructions on proper usage of anything increasing the number of outlets). We will likely order a few more to replace most of the battery powered emergency lights in our home.

I wanted something I could rely on in a power outage and these are really well made and will provide a great range of lighting . I gave two to my adult kids too . They just leave them plugged in . They will light up when power goes out and can be hand held as a flashlight too .
