Q: Is there any kind of waterproof backing, and if not has anyone had any issues with moisture seeping through to the furniture?

This coaster set hasn't waterproof backing,but it's absorbent, it can stop the seeping through to the furniture,protcet the furniture well.

Q: Would these fit in my car cup holders?

No, they are too big for the car.

Q: Are these flat or does the coil make them slighty bumpy? Worried about glass stability

They are not entirely flat, as they are coiled, however tumblers, mugs, and even wine glasses have been fine for us. Smaller/narrower based glasses might be a concern.

Q: How do you wash these?

It can be washed in a washing machine or manually. However, washing by hand is more durable.
