I would say you really need the custom trays though for a good fit between the gel and your teeth
I have the custom trays ordered by my dentist. I originally used them with a lower percentage gel and got eh results. the 32% gel REALLY worked, my family noticed immediately, and the price is way cheaper than getting at my dentist.
