American Lock A1106GRN1KEY Q# DG6842 Keyed Padlock, Aluminum, Green

The American Lock 1100 is a very high quality inexpensive padlock. These are secure and extremely well made. The aluminum body makes this lock suitable for outdoor use as well. Anything from this brand can be expected to last a lifetime. The 1100 is a great lock for lockers, toolboxes, or anything else where high security in a lightweight package is desirable. The double ball bearing shackle can’t be shimmed or otherwise easily bypassed without destroying the lock. You’d need at least 12 inch bolt cutters or a grinder to cut the shackle and nobody will be picking this without some time and privacy, so this lock is killer for any public location. I have several of these and while I wish this one had come with two keys it only needs one to work and the price was right considering the fast shipping. I bought this for lockpicking practice and the bitting of this particular key and the security pins made for a nice challenge. The solution ended up being to set 3 first, then 2, and then after barely nudging 1 it will drop into a false set. 4 and 5 are so high cut that this happens without touching them. 4 and 5 are both spool drivers and setting them requires serious finesse with the tension wrench. The lock came in about 24 hours ago and I got it open the first time after about 30 minutes. Would have loved to post a pic of the guts but I still need to get a pinning kit.

Came chocked full of grease as if the manufacturer cared about the product they created. But only came with one key!

The 1100 series padlocks are absolutely my topic I'm not sure exactly what it is that sets them above and beyond all others in my mind but I'm just very partial to them they're look size weight and feel they're built very well they've got a very sturdy stiff spring takes a lot of attention to turn the actuator just everything about it functions wonderfully. And unlike some padlocks out there this lock also functions as a high security padlock LOL as it has security keypads both spool and serrated. At first I was thrown off a little as you can see in the pictures there was we'll call it staining on the top under the shackle and I thought that the finish have gotten rubbed off but then I remembered they don't have a brass body but a brass key LOL and it was simply the key rubbing against the lock and transportation and with a little bit of rubbing with some four ought steel wool it came right off wish I think further speaks to the quality of the finish. And for the price tag definitely a value.

Satisfying pop and the weight makes it feel somewhat premium. Key slides in nicely and the shackle pops when opened, overall worth the cost and i feel good leaving it in the gym and college lockers

I buy these because for the price, the security is great. Difficult to pick open and very secure. I would give 5 stars but I ordered 4 locks and they all came with only one key, despite the box saying there are two. The paint on it also started to rub off on my hands and was quite difficult to get off, noting that they are probably dipped in some kind of dye rather than anodized. They are incredibly light, it says hardened steel but I assume it's most likely aluminum. Overall for the security, it's a rather decent lock but be prepared to spend some money elsewhere on getting another key made. Somewhat disappointing. Not what I was expecting to receive.

Only came with one key

It's a good lock, but this only came with 1 key, even though the box says two keys. That said, the main page for the product indicates that it comes with 1 key. It even says ' A1106GRN1KEY'; 1 key. 1 star removed however, since the box indicates 2 keys. This lock was obtained for locksport, but once i opened/broke down the lock, it does have 5 security pins, and as such a good rust protected lock.
