Fit like Fryes!
If you already own a pair of Fryes, these are fantastic and fit just like my Harness. I have a slightly wide foot and thick (tall) arch, usually wear a 7.5 or 8, and wear an 8 in these boots. They are snug in the toe box but not too tight to wear right out of the box. The shaft is certainly softer and has less structure than the Harness, but they are meant to be a little slouchy and they will be great with a casual skirt and tights this winter. If you’re new to this brand, these are a little “clunky” and do not fit like a dressy pair of booties. They’re from a western wear company and fit like it.

Super cool boots!
These boots are too cute! I normally wear a size 8 in everything. I know that Frye tends to run a bit small, so I ordered an 8.5. The length is fine with the normal amount of new boot heel slippage, but I will definitely need to put the boot stretchers on these to break them in before I wear them. I don't do the pain of breaking in boots and shoes anymore. LOL. The leather on the shaft is very soft and pliable, which I love! The shaft height is also perfect for me. With proper care, the quality of these boots means they will last the rest of my life and beyond.

Beautiful leather; timeless design
The leather is beautifully finished. Top , above buckle is supple and soft. It stands up well enough to work well over denim and possibly w a dress . Read the other reviews , many discuss a “tight toe box” and “slipping heel” I ordered two pair, half size apart. The smaller size does not slip, however, the toe box on the right boot is tighter than the left. I will take the right boot to be stretched— left is perfect. Good luckPs I have 4 other pair of Frye boots that have held up well for years

Worth it! Don't hesitate!
I have been wanting these boots for a long time. I have 2 other pair of Frye boots and I always struggle with the price tag. I don't mind spending money on good, quality shoes but Frye is out of my financial comfort zone. However, I am quickly assured that I have made a sound investment with each pair. My first pair were Campus. Ordered too big but after finding the right insole, they are perfect. Second was Veronica Slouch tall. Such a Bad A** looking boot!! Ordered normal size (10). Had to have them professionally stretched. They were so very hard to get on at first and leather was so stiff across the wide part of the foot, I was worried I made a painful investment. However, the boot stretching got it to a comfortable level that I could break them in more myself. 5 years my fav and they are very comfortable and still in great shape. These Veronica Short are the same (stiff, hard to get on) but seems like the leather is a bit softer. I think ordering up would be a mistake. It will take me a few less than comfortable days to get them broke in. I wore them at work, walking on concrete, first day for 8 hrs before having to relieve my feet. Not too bad. But I was wearing very thin socks too. My right foot is bigger than my left by about a half size but an 11 would be too big. Very odd. I have a boot stretcher and will use it on the right boot. This boot is slouchier than I had hoped. The shaft is quite flimsy but my calves are big enough to fill it in. I don't think it will be an issue. The color Whiskey is a little on the orange side but not a deal breaker. Goes perfect with leggings and skinny. Have tried boot cut jeans with success too. I tried to save money and ordered 4 other similar style boots (including the Frye Harness short, which I realize isn't saving any money) but it just wasn't what I wanted. These boots are very close to perfect and after a few days of breaking in, they will be. Choose your favorite color and order now! I will most likely be saving up for another pair next year.

Beautiful boots - black tumbled vs. black soft vintage
These boots are gorgeous. I tried two leather finishes - the black tumbled and the black soft vintage, and ended up keeping the soft vintage. I have a narrow heel with wide forefoot, and typically wear an 8.5 in closed shoes.Black TumbledThis pair was stiffer and about a half size smaller (size 9 fit). The sole is part light-colored leather and hard plastic. The forefoot felt a little u-shaped--they rolled a little when I put my foot down. 1 pair I tried had a shinier finish, the others were more matte. The shaft is stiffer and thicker than the soft vintage pair. The heel area in the upper was also stiff, and I felt it might be more supportive for my rolling feet, but also take longer to break in.Soft VintageThis pair was softer and felt almost too large at my usual size. They are a bit longer in the foot than expected. This pair had softer leather and a rubber sole layered over a leather sole, which was more grippy and shock-absorbing, and likely more rain-friendly. These felt more immediately comfortable than the tumbled leather pair, with a little more give in the heel area. Because of the size difference, they seemed a little floppy, but I understand that they are supposed to feel large until you break them in and the footbed molds to your foot. The leather is more beautiful, with a subtle shine, though the shaft is a little more slouchy. In both pairs, I could see the frye label inside the boot while wearing them. This was more prominent in the tumbled pair. All in all, they're both great boots. Frye boots have excellent cushioning that is subtle and firm rather than voluminous and squishy--I find them exceedingly comfy for my flexible, cranky feet. Arch support is moderate. The square heel gives good posting.I did have trouble with Amazon's sale boots having scratches and other defects, and ended up buying them elsewhere for a better price.

Love these!!
Beautifully soft leather, very comfortable. Nice and baggy/floppy around the lower calf, the ankle will fit pants that aren't too long. They're not lined so can cross the seasons with just a change of socks. They fit true to size. The color is a rich, chocolate brown. They are exactly what I was searching for!
