This is a GREAT little tool.
I use my Zircon hand-held metal detector to check recycled/salvaged lumber for nails. It works perfectly for my needs.I have also used it a couple of times to find some small pieces of steel hardware that I dropped in the grass.I don't know why they don't sell these in the store. A is really a great little tool!

Works great on plaster walls!
My home was built in the 50’s and all the walls are plaster, so a typical stud finder doesn’t work well. This however works great! I’ve tried a ton of different stud finders and they’ve all failed until I got this one. The pinpoint feature is really nice to so I can make sure. Don’t screw into a nail! If you have plaster walls like I do, don’t hesitate getting this stud finder!!

Functioned as described
Worked as designed, once in a row, not enough test to judge reliability or sensitivitybut doing well so far, plus, looks rather cool design-wise

Finally upgraded after 30 years. Great Stud Finder
Did not realize how much my outdated stud finder was missing. This one was easy to learn how to run. I am happy with the results.

Circuit finder works better
Hard to use, a circuit finder would be better where u attach the signal to the copper pipe and the battery sensor alarms when close. I just used a stud finder with electrical light/alarm.

Finds studs under lathe and plaster
I was at a loss how to locate a stud under lathe and plaster. My infrared stud finder could not penetrate this material. Did some research and found this neat way to find a stud in this situation; use an electronic metal detector to find the nails which fasten the lathe to the stud . Mark the location of each nail, connect the marks, and you have a line which shows the location of the stud. Brilliant low tech idea! Bought this low cost metal detector and located the stud right away. Finds nail heads up to 13 cm below the surface. No need to rely on tapping or peppering the wall with exploratory drill holes. Highly recommend.

So so..
First, the unit received looked like an Amazon Warehouse deal, repackaged return. Second it really had a hard time picking up the studs, metal. Returned it

Only stud finder that worked!
Our home has plaster and lathe walls and finding a stud was near impossible with a stud finder and even rare earth magnets. This device works so well! Using this device is a MUST for owners of older homes with plaster and lathe walls.
