Amazing. Saved my dog from diarrhea and gas!
Amazing. We rescued a dog in April 27th. He had diarrhea and gas, which is normal, for the first 9 days. We took him to the vet, got a broad spectrum antibiotic and some medicine to soothe his stomach. Diarrhea and gas continued. Every single poop of every day. We changed dog food brands to the one he was on with his foster family, assuming he might have a problem with one of the ingredients. None of these are cheap brands. Diarrhea and gas continued. Desperate, I began searching for some enzymes that were safe for dogs. I found there were several probiotics marketed for dogs. I researched the top few choices. He started this product on the evening of 6/5/2019. On 6/6/2019, he had moderately solid poop. On 6/7/2019, he pooped twice more, both pretty solid and we noticed he wasn't farting much. Instead of 20+ times, it was about 2 per day. By 6/9/2019, his poop was like our other two dogs. This was the only change in his diet or environment. The problem had existed for over 30 days straight, every single poop. Every one. We walk him twice a day, we see each poop. Within 24 hours of starting this, his symptoms were dramatically improved. In 72 hours, they were gone. Why does it work? The probiotics are digesting whichever parts of the food he couldn't handle. I'm lactose intolerant and rely on a probiotic to digest lactose. This is the same thing. If your dog is having diarrhea and gas, he probably has an intolerance. You can pay several hundred for a test that is less than perfectly accurate and then try to find an appropriate food, or just give him this powder. Since this breaks down the molecules he can't digest, it ends the issue. One reason we picked this product was the abundance of different probiotics. It targets a huge array of potential problems in dog food. We still don't know which ingredient he couldn't have before, but he can have it now. The second reason we picked this product was the reviews mentioning the level of customer service. This is how a small company should handle things. See some of the most helpful reviews for the steps the company took to ensure they satisfied each customer. This product deserves more than 5 stars. I will be purchasing it again each time we get low. The serving spoon is very small, it didn't take much powder and the dog didn't mind. The one container seems like it will last around 3 to 5 months. 58 pound dog, pretty active. When measuring that as a monthly cost, this is a very affordable solution that solved our dog's issue 100%. Note: Purina is a hell no, since they can feed euthanized pets as an ingredient (Google it, seriously, I didn't believe at first). This product is vastly cheaper (similar price but this will last several times longer) and you'll be supporting a better company. The Purina product is pushed by vets because many vets sell it, hardly an unbiased view. UPDATE 11/2/2019: We attempted to switch to another food, thinking he could handle it with his probiotic. He could not. The gas gradually returned. We tried a few different foods with no success. He is now eating the food he did best with, but is back to massive farting. I am planning to take him into the vet. Unless the product changed, it would appear he needs a two part solution. There is something else to fix, but the probiotic appears to be a necessary part of the solution.

Seems to work well for yeasty skin irritations
My dog had VERY itchy red skin and a yeasty smell, especially on her belly. We tried putting cornstarch on it, then tried baby powder. Everything seemed to help a little bit for a little while--but then the furious itching would return. She spent so much time chewing on her skin it was like she did little else while she was awake. And then she would wake in the middle of the night, scratching and chewing even more. The vet saw her in the middle of my powdering attempts, and he said to bring her back if it didn't get better. I know from experience that there isn't a lot they can do for itchiness. Unless it's something simple like fleas, it's a long battle with various drugs and topical agents that aren't wonderful for dogs to ingest. Or the dreaded Prednisone, which works wonders in the short term, but is terrible for long-term health. So, I decided to try this stuff before going down the veterinary medicine road. Honestly, the first day she was BETTER. She fell into a deep sleep on the sofa like she was SO relieved. I am very skeptical of these things, and I immediately emailed a friend with more experience--don't dietary supplements take weeks to work?? The next day, there was more itchiness, more chewing... But it was less, and it went away a bit more the next day. Over the next few weeks, it would come and go instead of being a constant thing. After a month, the yeasty moist skin, redness, and non-stop chewing was completely gone. We finished our first jar of probiotics today (I think it lasted about 3 months and she is a big girl). She smells better, isn't chewing and scratching anymore, and seems WAY happier. I don't know how this works, but it really did the trick for my dog. I think it depends on the cause. If your dog has allergies, it may or may not work. I'm pretty sure my dog had some type of skin yeast infection, and this did a great job of wiping it out! I'm waiting for my second jar to arrive! My dog is 65 pounds and had no digestive issues with the powder. I want to keep her on it since she's getting older and will be more susceptible to health issues. Since this isn't a drug, and it definitely helped, I'm hoping to head off other problems by continuing to use it.

Good Quality - Just Missing L. Paracasei
I like this product. It has a lot if good stains, including one that's supposed to help with anal gland issues. My dog likes it, it isn't clumpy, it's shelf stable, and there's a convenient measure included. Unfortunately, the L. Paracasei strain isn't in this formula. I bought this when I was replacing an old probiotic that had been discontinued. After some experimentation, I figured out that the L. Paracasei is the “magic bullet” for my dog’s health. He is squirrelly until he gets it. I hope they are able to include it in this product in the future. That way I could just use this one product. I may continue to give it at half doses in the evening so that my dog gets the benefits of the diverse strains in this product without causing digestive upset involved in taking more than one probiotic source. Otherwise, the product is high quality, and the fact that it is made in that USA is a big motivator to buy from them. Because of the missing L. Paracasei, it is a four star item for me.

Has worked for our dogs - UPDATE
1-1-2019 - I wanted to share an experiment we did with this product with the one dog of ours that delved into coprophagia (consumption of feces). Earlier in 2018, we were running low on this product and decided to try to wean both dogs off of it (see original review below for why they were put on it). We saw no change in their digestion for a couple weeks. Then, sometime into the 3rd week, we noticed poo-eating from the one dog that had suffered (well, WE suffered from him having it; he seemed to love it), starting up his disgusting habit again. Back they both went on it. I can not state definitively that this would work with other dogs who have this habit, but it have worked for this particular dog. They'll both stay on this for life. ORIGINAL REVIEW So, I originally purchased this for one of our dogs due to his shedding - there had been one or two reviews that stated their dog was shedding less after using this product. We have a shepherd mix that's a heavy shedder - virtually everyday is vacuum day with him in the house. Well, it didn't solve that problem for us - but - it did solve another problem; namely, gassiness, bloating, and unbelievably foul wind for both dogs at times. This has been a problem since we adopted them and changing their food had brought some relief but didn't eliminate it entirely. Since putting both our dogs on this, the gas/wind has nearly disappeared (our Dobie still "sings" to us from the other end occasionally, but its greatly decreased - and there's no odor!); we'd also been working with the shepherd mix on a bit of leftover puppy coprophagia, and that has since stopped completely since adding this product to his food. Given the size of our dogs (Dobie is about 80 lbs; shepherd mix is about 55 lbs.), the standard dosage is 2 scoops (included in container) per dog per meal (2X a day). One container would last us about a month. I've since cut the dosage back slowly until now we're just at one scoop per dog per meal and I can state that there has been no deterioration in the product's effectiveness. This is important to us as additives such as probiotics, etc., tend to be expensive to use over a long time (which is why I think so many people stop using them). So now I can stretch this over nearly two months and not break my budget (considering other monthly pet expenses such as flea/tick treatments, heartworm treatments, food, treats, yearly vet visits and such). Its difficult to judge products such as this definitively - reviews such as mine are clearly anecdotal. But I wouldn't do a review such as this if I wasn't reasonably sure that the product had some effect (positive or negative) on our dogs. But be aware that what works for my dog may not work for yours.

Solved my pekingese's skin yeast infection! Awesome!
My pekingese had developed a yeast infection on his skin and it was really out of control for about a year and a half. I was buying very expensive Duoxo shampoo and sprays which were wonderfully effective but, within days, the skin would be covered again with the yeast. We had steroids and antibiotics and all seemed to alleviate the symptoms but not resolve the cause. We were avoiding grain and sugars (still not a bad idea) When I purchased these (due largely to one review), I was incredibly skeptical but, my pekingese was literally exhausted with the scratching, feet chewing and biting at his skin. Within hours of feeding him chicken breast (from a can) mixed with a small bit if his regular food and a heaping scoop of these probiotics, we all began to see relief. Each day got better and I moderated the dose to the recommended. It has been almost 2 months and his coat is beautiful, he is feeling great (12 years old) and the scratching chewing and biting at his skin and feet are almost non existent. I am completely convinced this has had the most impact on my dogs battle with his skin yeast infection. I continue to feed him 1/2 scoop daily with food and his regular food mixed and he doesn't mind it all. It's kind of sweet but no real taste and my dog is picky but licks the plates clean. Wish had found this when all this started. We live in the coastal and humid southeast and lots of friends had issues with yeast infections of the skin on their pets about the time we did. This is expensive but compared to one pet visit and 30 days of antibiotics, it's nominal and worth a shot. A recently discovered benefit includes no tear stains and this was a big problem since my pup is white. He used to have a big problem with yeast and tear stains around his eyes. Very pugged. This has almost completely resolved since he's been on these. I wish the manufacturer would sale a much smaller package or put these in smaller packs like instant coffee or water favors. If packed this way, these would be even easier to travel with and use before the humidity takes a toll. Still convinced this has been HUGE in our skin battle. I don't use antifungal shampoos any longer and so far, no issues. Great stuff!

Caused a reaction with my dog
I believe this product caused some reaction for my doodle to itch excessively. Once stopped, after a few weeks, he stopped itching and excessively.

STILL - The Absolutely Best Pet Probiotics We Have Used...Period
I have a 85 lb flat-coated retriever with chronic IBS, causing her extreme discomfort, gas and diarrhea and the resultant dehydration. She is also unable to maintain thriving intestinal bacterial colonies, exacerbating the problem. We have tried innumerable prescription meds/probiotics and mega-corp probiotics from Purina and others with absolutely no success. THE ONLY PROBIOTICS THAT WORKS FOR US AND RESOLVED HER SYMPTOMS COMPLETELY WAS PET ULTIMATES PROBIOTICS FOR DOGS. We experimented with different dosages and found giving her 2 scoops with her evening meal (just sprinkled on top of her dry food - PetSmart's Simply Nourish), works best. Because it's odorless and tasteless she has no issues with it. Now she just sits there waiting until I add the probiotic before she even attempts to eat. If you're wondering, 2 scoops, once per day gives us enough probiotic for 2-3 months. Larger or smaller dogs, dependent upon the severity of their condition or if you're using it prophylactically will use more or less respectively. We also do dog/cat rescue and fostering and many animals can be in poor or failing health with suppressed immune systems. By starting them on Pet Ultimate Probiotics during intake can help to ensure they're on the best track to recovery and a full life. An added bonus - Pet Ultimate's customer service is very responsive. If you send them an email with questions they actually respond with an intelligent customer specific response, not some canned one-size-fits-all response. Bottom-line - we swear by Pet Ultimate Probiotics and will continue to use them as a go-to supplier. Update 5/7/2022 - My dog will not eat her food until I put her probiotic in the bowl. Smart dog! Not one digestive problem in 3+ yrs. It really is amazing. Also, their customer support is beyond compare. They bend over backwards to help their customers as they did when I contacted them during the Covid shutdown and there were supply chain issues causing limited stock. They found me some. Again, amazing!!!

Truly amazing results!!
I have an eight-year-old French bulldog who suffers from skin allergies over the last few years. I have been in and out of the vets office and have been on and off antibiotics and yeast medications for a few years now. A few months ago her skin was so bad she was miserable and biting her feet and legs to the point where she was missing hair and her skin was turning black. She had a raw neck from scratching, and an odor no matter how many baths I gave her! A friend suggested putting her on a high-quality pet probiotic. I went on Amazon and found this product. based on the reviews and price, I figured I would give it a try! well, with in two weeks the smell is completely gone and has not come back!!!!Her entire being is calmer and clearer the scratching has lessened tremendously, and her hair is just beginning to grow back! I will never be without this product for the rest of my dogs life, and would continue to give it to every dog I will ever own...because it works and giving your dog a probiotic, just makes sense!!! It helps their intestines, which if the intestines are not healthy a lot of health issues arise from an upset in the gut. I have been doing my research, and I am so happy I found a product to help my dog that is a non-pharmaceutical. I refuse to give my dog Apoquel! which some vets recommend for allergies, but it is a dangerous drug. I truly pray this product continues to work!! I am so happy;))) what a gift to my life and my dog's life this has been! thank you thank you!!
