Nice little speakers
Great sound for the price, I have them mounted to the wall about 4.5 feet high in each corner of the room.

Amazing Speakers. Packaging Perfect
This Review is for the White Polk ES15. The speakers are packaged correctly, and protected from damage on all sides. Rest assured that the speakers will not be damaged during shipping. These speakers sound amazing and I really like the way the white series looks. ‘ I was thinking about getting the ES20’s but I’m glad I read enough reviews and combined with a good subwoofer, the 15’s are all you need. The ES20’s are just too much speaker for my tastes. Your sub needs to thump, not your mains. Everyone is different, but prefer the mid to high range from my mains and center, and my subwoofer handles the low range. I recommend an RSL subwoofer to complete your setup. I also went with the ES35 instead of the ES30 for the same reason. I guess if you are not using a subwoofer the ES20 and ES30 would be a good choice, but I can’t imagine not having a sub.

Nice speakers
Beautiful looking speakers. Works better than expected for surround sound. The quality and design are very good. Whenever friends come over, they always ask where I got them from. Tjey ate hooked up to my Marantz receiver and do the job well.

Best surround speakers …Ever
These are the best speakers for surround sound systems I’ve ever listened to. I am audiophile and have had every speaker on the market. These are better than, Bose, Sony, JBl, Harman Kardon, Klipsch, MartinLogan, and any others in this class. Trust me, you’ll love these. I almost fell out of my chair when I put Stranger Things and the ultimate test…Battleship on my surround system. I was blown away. Great performance at a fantastic price point

Paired Up with Other Signature Elite Series Speakers or Alone They Sound Incredible
I bought these speakers along with the ES20 bookshelf loudspeakers and the ES30 center channel to build up an existing surround system. I thought these would be ideal as building blocks for future system upgrades since they're very versatile. They can be used as surrounds in a 5.1, surround and sides in a 7.1 system, or as height speakers in an ATMOS configuration. They look beautiful and produce some amazing sound from such small bookshelf speakers. Since I'm living in an apartment and don't want to be a total ass, I don't think I've pushed them as hard as they can cleanly handle. Movies and video games sound great, and music is rich and fully balanced with the other Polk Elite speakers. From jazz and classical to drum & bass and reggae, the speakers are some of the best I've ever heard. I've heard louder systems before, just not loud and exceptionally clean sounding ones. These speakers work well in the supporting role of surround speakers, but they could easily stand alone in a small bedroom or office system as the primary speakers. If there's enough power to drive them then they will respond sonically. The Power Port bass design on the speakers is noteworthy and does seem to enhance the bass response and balance within the music without overpowering the mix. If I had one complaint, and it's probably not a reasonable one in this price range, it would be the fake wood finish. The MDF they used sounds good, but a real natural wood finish would just take these over the top from a 9.5 to a 10. I love these speakers.

Great clarity, awesome looks, get LOUD if you apply clean power, but no kick-drums/bass for metal!
I bought these really wanting to like them. I grew up reading about Polk in the 80's & 90's, and they do have a stellar track record. I was looking for small computer speakers to replace my B&W MM-1's. I got these and hooked them up to a cheapie $29 class-d amp I bought here on amazon that has 50W x 2 and a THX Onyx DAC. The overall sound was actually very good, nice and neutral from the mid-bass all the up to the treble. I listen to rock + metal + extreme metal. The highs were pleasant, as pleasant as a shrieking death metal guitar can be, and that is with No EQ applied. That being said, what caused me to cave and return them was non-existent bass. I figured with that Polk Power Port and having a decent size (for a 4" bookshelf speaker that is), they could maybe get close to 60Hz or so as an F(-6dB), but nope, these roll-off HARD below 80Hz even when close to a wall. I've heard other speakers in the same size factor with much more satisfactory bass output with the same size mid-bass driver. I know most would say "get a subwoofer", but these would have been used for traveling; I needed something that I can put in one of my duffle bags and these fit that bill with their small size. All things considered, for the size and cost: ♦ Sound quality in their usable range: 9 out of 10 ♦Finish/aesthetics: 10/10 ♦Midbass: 7 out of 10 ♦Midrange: 7 out of 10 ♦Treble: 8.5 out of 10 ♦Bass: 4 out of 10 ♦Overall value: 7 out of 10 These should be priced somewhere in the $170-$180 range tops, not $250, mainly due to the lack of bass response. Other than that, the look and finish is GREAT! With a 50Wx2 amp they can get LOUD and still sound great doing so! I bet the 5" and larger versions sound much much better as Main speakers! If Polk were to re-engineer these and give that midbass driver a lower resonant frequency (maybe 10Hz lower), and increase cabinet size just a smidge but not too much, perhaps 10-12%, I bet they could sound much much better! If you are totally OK with the lack of bass, I highly recommend them.
