Makes the walker easier to use indoors (not good for concrete)
I had knee surgery about four weeks ago and need a walker to get around. The first thing we did was to put glides on the back legs and then we added those carpet like covers that slip over the glide. The only concrete I walked on was outside church and the parking lot at the grocery store. The house has linoleum and carpet with a concrete porch. The covers wore out in less than three weeks.I was rummaging through Amazon looking for options when I came across this little jewel. Lesson learned with the previous choices is I will lift up the back legs when I'm on concrete. One of the reviews said the purchaser returned the product because it did not roll. This is a glide with an auto stop (push down on the back legs to apply what is a simple brake). What I like about this is the glide itself is small and roundish so it easily glides over the linoleum and carpet - much better than the regular ski glides. It's much easier to swing around the back legs for a direction change than the regular ski glides. Because it is a glide, it won't get lint or dog hair or dust in it. I practice using the auto brakes - more for fun and need.I have no idea how long this product will last; however, the price was so good I'm going to order a second one to keep on hand. The question I always answer is "would I guy this again?" With what I know at this moment, yet. I am very happy with the product.I would like to answer the reviewer from Canada in this reply. C'est le problème avec tout ce qui est en plastique - ce n'est tout simplement pas fait pour une utilisation régulière sur du béton. Même les housses de glissement que j'ai utilisées se sont usées en quelques semaines seulement.

Great Replacement for Tennis Balls!
My sister uses a four-legged walker with front wheels and goes through a LOT of those tennis balls on the back legs. She was messing around on Amazon to order more of the tennis balls she likes and stumbled across these. We took a chance and ordered some. When we got them, I put them on. They were very easy to put on. She said they were very sturdy, had a bit of resistance to them (so the walker still doesn’t roll too fast or get away from her). They are quiet on anything except rough surfaces, but even then they are, it’s about as loud as the walker vibrations. They have lasted much longer than the tennis balls would have. She’s had the same ones on for about 8 weeks, used them on astroturf (smoother and easier than tennis balls, doesn’t bunch up or roll the astroturfing), cement walkways, driveways, tile (not as quiet as tennis balls going over the grout), grass, dirt (a little bit difficult but didn’t get dirt trapped or cause problems with the rollers), asphalt (a little rattling but so did the walker), smooth and quiet on floors like Walmart, grocery stores, and government buildings, and more. She said she is really happy with them and plans to buy more when the current ones wear out. These are a great investment! She’d have spent much more than the cost of these rollers in tennis balls in that time frame.

Functionally fine for indoor use but temporarily fine for outdoor use.
Product was used to replace the two "shoes" on the rear legs of a standard walker which was/is being used to assist in daily walking as well as for physical therapy after surgery to my left side fractured hip.The glides were easily installed within five minutes with minimal effort. The ball/sphere design is a bit deceiving in that it appears to be a rolling ball when in fact, is in a fixed position and as such, does not roll but that was made known within the company's product information. The glides move smoothly over indoor conventional floors such as wood, linoleum, and carpets where there is minimal surface friction. The glides initially move semi-smoothly over outdoor surfaces such as concrete sidewalks BUT the ball material quickly wears because of high friction on outdoor surfaces. Basically. The ball's surface eventually wear down to the center flat diameter of the ball and in turn, requires replacement. Probably designed this way to advance future business!!As far as the alleged braking feature, the glides only break, of hold still, when the user exerts a lot of downward pressure onto the upper handles. In other words, the so-called braking is temporary and the walker can move unless the user continues to exert the downward pressure on both handles.

Short cement life
Short life if used on cement very much. Good design.
