Blue is for SC/UPC connectors and Green SC/APC. Blue does not mean LC One is polished at an angle and the other is flat. However, these connectors are only housings that place the cables directly together so it's the color(type) of cable to match that is important.

Since the connectors were blue, I assumed they were LC connectors, they are SC connectors.
Blue is pretty much always used for LC connectors, with green being used for SC. These are blue SC connectors. I should have read more closely and should have definitely inspected prior to climbing the pole for installation, that's on me, but I didn't so this cost me a lot of time.
