amazing value
I don't write many reviews, but this one was worth the effort. There are many options out there including LED activated trays. Many reviews said they burned their gums and turned them white (with pictures to prove it). Why would anyone need more than this straightforward solution? I had trays done by my dentist many years ago for hundreds of dollars. They worked well Recently they broke apart. These trays were simple to mold and fit just as well. I used less than recommended (only about 0.5 ml or less for both trays) 22% peroxide whitener. No burned gums, and my teeth have gone from noticeably yellow to much whiter in three 30 minute sessions. I can easily go more, but already I have achieved my goals with little effort and less then a week's time. I had no trouble molding them. They didn't stick or cause any issues. Such a great deal. And I was not paid to write this review.

Perfect if it was longer
I bought these after spending (wasting!) $20 on a Dentek mouthguard, which came with only 1 piece, and didn't work at all for my purposes. I needed it to use as a tray to wear overnight to hold a special paste for weak teeth/teeth prone to caries. It was too thick and fell well below the gum line. These, on the other hand, were a vast improvement--the cost is so cheap, you get *3* pieces, it was thin enough for my needs, and it goes up to/beyond the gum line. I also found them very quick and easy to mold and shape. The only drawback is they are a bit too short and do not extend far back enough to fully cover my end molars, about tooth and a half length short. Otherwise, these would be absolutely perfect. Still, a great value for the small amount of money. Unfortunately, just can't use them overnight as I planned, as I fear my teeth/alignment being thrown out of whack if I were to wear them for extended periods, as I've heard that can happen if the trays do not fully extend to and cover ALL the teeth.

I learned that its worth it to get the dentist made trays!
It was my first experience with these type of trays and at first it was kind of cool to be able to "custom" fit the trays. However that excitement quickly faded. I was lucky to have 3 trays because one of them became too hot and the silicon fused to itself making the piece not usable. I was able to somehow boil the other two just good enough to use. They say the piece isn't hot but it is because there's near boiling hot water still on the device. So I got them to fit and was excited to use the whitening gel. I did 22% Carbamide Peroxide for 30 minutes and noticed a big difference in shades. But those 30 minutes were filled with uncomfortableness! Despite the trays' slimness, they are still just too thick and clunky. It is hard to wear these for any amount of time. I had a large amount of saliva generated during that time and was worried about swallowing it due to the possible leak of the peroxide. So what does one do with all that? You can either swallow it with the peroxide, try to spit it out without losing the peroxide, or you can wad a bunch of tissue into your mouth. That is what I did and it was OK.Ultimately, I was able to whiten my teeth(one time) but the process made me want to go to the dentist to get an actual custom tray. I will not be using these cheap-o trays again. For the money, I guess you could say its worth it. But I just don't think its a good idea to use these because they don't actually fit perfectly to your teeth. I did get a burnt gum from the peroxide and I wondered if it had to do with the trays being deformed.I would not buy this again and in fact am going to the dentist tomorrow to get custom trays. There are some things that it is worth it to get the real thing. For me, my teeth are precious and I want to be able to have a professionally done cleaning and whitening. I thought the cheap route would be good enough and would save the hassle but now I think it would have been better to just take the hit and go to the dentist.Good luck!

These work effectively as inexpensive teeth grinding guards
Don't spend a fortune on dentist customized tooth grinding guards. These will do the trick.I have tooth grinding problems and thought I really hurt my jaw. Before I considered tooth pulling I bought these and tried them out. It took a while to heal but after a few months of using these the problem went away. As a side benefit because they place a double barrier (top and bottom) between upper and lower teeth it 'trains' you to not clench your jaw during sleep.Tips to use:They 'melt' very quickly in very hot water so the trick is to boil water and only place in for a few seconds then fit in mouth pressing down with fingers to mold around teeth. This will need several cycles of this process to get a good fit and this trial and error process assures the trays will not melt and become worthless. These work and am very glad I tried them.

much like that of a ziploc bag
I guess you get what you pay for. Intended to use for D.I.Y teeth whitening trays but was hesitant when I opened to package to find the product not in proper packaging. Instead, each mouth guard (3 total) came in small plastic bags, much like that of a ziploc bag. I knew I would be sanitizing them before use anyway but their lack of packaging creeped me out. Who had handled this product before I bought it and did they wear gloves? Thoughts that don't exactly make me want to put this product in my mouth. Pressing on, I tried to mold the guards by submerging in hot water for a few seconds like you would with any mouth guard but the plastic started melting away and dissolving before I could even take it out of the water (we're talking a mug of mildly hot water from the microwave here, not even boiling water.) With that one being unusable, I tried again, with cooler water. I got it to be pliable without really melting but it still didn't work. I didn't use any water on my third attempt but the plastic wasn't soft enough to mold. Overall, I wound up throwing them away and paying a little more money for a different brand. Will be more discerning and careful when reading item descriptions next time.
