Used to install fiber optic cabling between buildings - very useful tools!
I am upgrading the network backbone at a farm to fiber optic cabling. Cable runs were 160' and 70' from the main building.Using these tools, I was able to easily create a narrow gap that allowed the direct burial and armored fiber optic cable to be dropped in between 12" to 18" deep and was able to cover the distance relatively quickly. If you can use a shovel, you can easily use these tools. There is virtually no trace of the work after the cable was installed - almost no damage to the grass areas. The alternative - renting a trencher - is much more expensive and evasive - requiring much more clean up and replacing the sod/soil.if you have underground cables that need to be installed and do not want the area to be torn up with heavy equipment, then these tools are a MUST BUY.

Does the job well
I bought these two very direct burial power cord. These work as advertised. I definitely would pre-soak the area to make these more effective. It is definitely worth the money and I plan to use them a lot more.

It worked.
This product did exactly what I needed it to do. It was a lot of work and manual labor but at the end it was easier than the alternatives. It’s just so expensive.

Worth the money
We used this to trench an electrical project about 100ft. Super easy to use and never got dull. Used in the woods, through the lawn, and in garden beds

For burying low voltage wire only!
We ran drip hoses on the planned route of the cable to soften the ground and while this helped, these (expensive) hand tools still only allowed us to bury the wire a few inches. I would only recommend this for areas inaccessible to a trencher or lawn edger. Furthermore, for safety etc this should only be used to bury low voltage wires like telephone or landscape lighting.
