Sim Card worked perfectly in China
This sim card worked perfectly in China, fast speed, more than enough data for my trip. And best of all, a +86 phone# for local people to call. Although the majority of people in China use WeChat to communicate now, there're still places and times a real Chinese phone# is needed. Will definitely buy again next time travel to China.

A SIM card with an excellent combination of data, voice and text!
When I started looking for a sim card for my upcoming trip, I skipped the ones with lot of reviews and picked this one that had no review yet. Here is why: 1. I like the combination of data, voice and text. With the current quarantine requirement in place, having a large data plan will be very helpful from handling business tasks to surfing internet to kill time. Don't expect too much from the wifi at hotel as it will be shared by many customers in quarantine. 2. It came with very clear instructions of activation and use. Once I provided the information as instructed, I received the confirmation of activation by email in 24 hours. Yes, I was asked to provide a copy of passport. In China, it has been implemented for years for a user to have a phone number associated with real name/identity. Be aware before you buy and take it easy when you see this part of the instruction. 3. The seller also provides a web site to extend, or buy more data or voice time if needed. I consider this is a nice option for short-term users who may need the sim card/phone number for more than 30 days. 4. When I was still searching, I believe that I used their sim card for a trip back in 2019 after comparing the names of the sellers and the product descriptions. The name of the seller changed slightly (with a space added), and the product descriptions are presented in a similar way. I had positive experience back then, so I decided to give it a try even if it didn’t have any review yet. After I went through the activation, it turns out that I’m dealing with the same team. Overall, this is a perfect and reliable solution with great flexibility for people who are going to spend a short trip in China.

Perfect SIM card for China use
I was initially annoyed that Amazon had delayed my order (no reason given) so this showed up just two days before I departed for China. Product itself is great, exactly as advertised! They do require an email activation which worried me because of the narrow window I had (You must activate it before leaving for China). They guarantee a 24 hour reply for activation, and mine only took less than 12 hours. Instructions are clear and concise for swapping out the sim and tool is provided. Worked on 5g (or at the least 4g) everywhere we went. Couldn't be happier with purchase!

Used for Glocalme and added on VPN service
I got this sim for my Glocalme WiFi hotspot because Glocalme’s cloud sim packages are too expensive for a trip to China. It worked without any problems although you need to wait quite a while for the cell phone network to pick up on the hotspot. To avoid the long start up delay I just leave the hotspot on 24/7. My Astrill VPN didn’t work in China so although I had WiFi it really wasn’t that functional. I reached out to 3Gsolutions over email and they responded to me quickly and pointed me to their VPN service, 60 days for $24. The web activation was simple and I was able to pay using PayPal. Now connecting to my Glocalme hotspot and running VPN on my iPhone works seamlessly. Highly recommend their Sim and VPN for any foreigners traveling to China. One tip, download the VPN app “Outline App” before you come to China because the App Store won’t work over WiFi. I had to do data roaming on my phone to download the app while I was China and pay ATT roaming data at $2 per MB. The outline app is 7 MB so $14 Not cool but price to pay to not need to data roam for the rest of the trip.

Works in China but not for Google pixel
I bought two sim cards and installed on an iPhone 11 and a pixel 8 for use in China from March 13 to April 7, 2025. One sim had a label saying that it must be activated by a date that's already passed. I emailed the seller who said that it will still work and to disregard. It did work, a long with the VPN I bought from the seller. There were issues. One phone number was associated with an account that has a outstanding payment due so initially I wasn't able to order Didi or fod delivery. I emailed the seller and they immediately paid off the debt so I was able to use those functions, although I continued to get robo calls and texts for the outstanding balance. The other number initially worked on the first couple of days, then the phone and text functions stopped working (data continued to work.). I notified the seller and they said that it was a common issue with pixel phones. They offered me $5 credit and immediately send me the money by WeChat. I like that it works and how responsive the seller was, but took off a star for these issues. I used their VPN on the iPhone and another VPN (mullvad) on the Google phone. Both VPN worked fine.

A very useful sim card!
I bought this card 3 times to visit relatives in Shanghai. I found that both real-name authentication and the connection to the destination are very simple and fast. Good signal, fast speed! It brings great convenience to my life in Shanghai.

Great and Terribke
I'm updating my review after a second trip to China. I have a love/hate relationship to this card/company. Once you get it working it's fantastic. But I have never been able to get it to work right away. And that's a major stressor because if it doesn't work at the airport, you will have no money and no transportation and no way to contact the company. If the airport information desk has a nice person they will call the company for you and get it working, but if not, you have to rely on the kindness of strangers. Even a stranger, on this trip, could not get an answer from the company when our delayed flight touched down at 11 pm. He was nice enough to take me in his taxi to my hotel, where I did get it working. I acknowledge that part of the problem was my phone, which I had set on "private DNS server" and that was creating a problem. If I could ever get this card working on my own at the airport,I would give it five stars. Previous review: This card worked fine for me during three weeks in China, but there were some confusing aspects about it for me because there are different functions it handles (Internet access, texts, calls, email) and so different reload options and setup requirements (for email, since Google doesn't work). In the end I got by fine without a VPN but they offer that too. (I used Baidu Translate and Amap/GaoDe.) But I can read characters -- somewhat. I sorely missed Google Translate because Chinese displays are so tiny and full of ads, though. Customer service got back to me quickly about everything. Card didn't boot up smoothly at the airport but I may have forgotten to turn off my phone when I switched cards. Anyway, someone at the airport helped me get online and away I went. Probably worth it to set up an account when you buy the card so you can keep track of your usage.
