Reliable Performance and Effortless Sharpening
The Presto knife sharpener is a practical investment for any home cook who values sharp, reliable knives and wants an easy, affordable way to keep them in top condition. The sharpener arrived ready to use right out of the box, with a compact design and non-slip base. Using the sharpener is straightforward. The device features a two-stage sharpening system: the first stage grinds and reshapes dull or damaged edges, while the second stage hones and polishes.I tested the sharpener on various kitchen knives, including chef’s knives, paring knives, and even a serrated bread knife. The results were consistently impressive. Noise level is tolerable and worth putting up with for the benefit of having sharp knives! In summary, the Presto knife sharpener is a good value for its simplicity, speed, and effectiveness.

Great Purchase! Would buy again, but only need one knife sharpener!
Really happy with the Presto 08810 Professional Electric Knife Sharpener. It’s super easy to use, even if you’ve never sharpened a knife before. I just followed the instructions, and my dull kitchen knives were sharp again in no time.I like that it has different stages, so you can get a really nice edge without guessing what you’re doing. It feels solid and does a much better job than any manual sharpener I’ve tried. Even my old knives feel brand new after using this.If you cook a lot and are tired of dealing with dull blades, this thing is definitely worth it. Totally recommend!

Not top flight, but works well
This is very useful for a quick easy sharpening session. The knives have a large discrepancy as far as the angle of sharpening goes, meaning they do not fit in tightly to one specific angled position. There is a lot of slop and I havent figured out if they should lean one way or the other for the perfect angle. That said they do not get knives hair cutting sharp, but they do get them very sharp, and much better than nothing, and it is very easy to use.

A good knife sharpener, at a good price, and did a great job.
I wish I had bought an electric knife sharpener like this a long time ago rather than using the manual knife sharpener. This was well made and absolutely did the trick of sharpening my knifes, and the price was good. Ultimately youre doing not much more than grinding a piece of steel, and this did the trick...and well, and as I said the price was good.

Be a the Sharpest Knife in the Drawer
I’ve been cooking for the family for over 30 years and rely on my knives on a daily basis. I have about 30 knives that range from a 4” paring knife to a 15” prime rib carving knife. My knife drawer is full of utility knives, chef’s knives, boning knives, cleavers, vegetable knives, pocket knives and even a Corsican Vendetta knife. My knife drawer is off limits and the wife knows how particular I am about keeping them organized, clean and sharp. I use a whetstone and strop to keep them razor sharp.I don’t know what it is about some men and knives, but I’m one of those guys. A major pet peeve for me is dull knives. Dull knives are useless and dangerous. That being said, you can easily take it to a level that is ridiculous, and invest hundreds and hundreds of dollars in knife sharpening equipment. But truth be told, you really don’t need a knife that will cut tomatoes so thin you can see through them. I’ve never had a need for vegetables cut that thin. You’re prepping food and not performing delicate neurosurgery. You don’t really need your knives to be as sharp as a surgeon’s tools.I recently purchased this Eversharp electric sharpener and did so mainly to get back some time that I usually spend hand sharpening my knives. I was a bit skeptical until I sharpened the first knife using this product.I used steps 2 and 3 and made only two passes per side, and the knife/through a sheet of paper with ease. It was sharp enough to shave some hair off of my arm.The key is to make sure you use very light pressure and allow the weight of the knife to make contact with the sharpening wheel as you pul it through. Use the orange guides and keep the knife against it to maintain angle. No need for pressure. With good technique, you can sharpen a knife in under 2 minutes. No need to wear down your knives, nice and easy.Once sharpened, you are good to go and don’t need to sharpen them very often. Use a steel to keep your edges straight and you’ll find this sharpener a very inexpensive product. Highly recommended.*The only negative is that it doesn’t do scissors and the wheels aren’t diamond, but at this price point, it is a remarkable sharpener IMHO.*This is for home use, and probably wouldn’t be practical in a professional kitchen.

Decent for the price
I was able to get my knives reasonably sharp with this machine. Not professional-sharp, but sharp enough, I guess. I have a lot of experience with sharpening as I am a woodworker so used to sharpening chisels, plane irons, etc. and understand the process quite well. I thought from some of the other reviews that this would be a miracle machine that would sharpen quickly and efficiently, but that it is not. The biggest problem are the thickness guides, which are not fixed in place and move at the very slightest pressure. Unless you are very steady handed and extremely careful, the blade will wobble in the slot and cause an uneven grind. A precise sharpening requires a fixed blade angle which is next to impossible with this machine. All of this said, it will get kitchen knives useably sharp in a short time, but if you are an experienced chef you may be disappointed in the results. Still a whole lot cheaper than frequent professional sharpening for a set of knives.
