Excellent book

Well written! This reading gives a general view of a developing church challenged by the controversies of societies throughout its history. And as time continues and technology evolves, the church, I suspect, will face new storms of controversy and take hold of the wheel and strengthen its hull.

I took a class using this book and it was excelant. Very imformative. Any one who wants to know the history of the Catholic Church should read this book

Wonderful deal and a really good book.

All of these books teach post Vatican II teachings which are extremely protestant in nature and doctrineI took them all to the Novice Order Church then grabbed my kids and fled to the nearest Traditional Mass. We have never looked back , my son began serving as an Alter Server , giving the Latin responses and prayers at 10.My son is now 13 .

This is very accessible and fun to read. It is brief but conveys much of the history of the early church. I love history, have a degree in European History, but I still learned things from this little book. Buy it! It's part of a series by Loyola Press and I've read several of the books...it's great value for the money and easy to read.

The reason I got this book is because it is the main book I need for my course. It is excellent and meets the requirements. I am also thankful that it was here for the start of the course.
