It does make the backseat more comfortable, but it's not a simple screw off/on, must pull on trim
It can be installed on the year models stated, but you can't simply screw it off and then put the new one on. You will need to pull some of the trim. Once you know what you're doing, takes about 10 minutes. Luckily, there is a video out there that will show you how to do it

Cant install on 2022
What is not mentioned in the description is that once you remove the plastic cover for the bracket in the defender and then remove the screws, there is no way to remove the original bracket through the small opening so you could install these. No matter how I tried to wedge the old bracket out of its slot...it could not be removed. It is solid steel and I tried many different angles, etc. Maybe this works for a 2021 model or earlier but there is no way to install on a 2022 since the bracket that comes with the defender cannot be removed from inside the vehicle. Its simple physics...the opening to remove the old bracket is not open enough to slide the old bracket out and then install these. Don't buy unless you take to a dealer and they would have to take apart the entire inside back panel to be able remove the old bracket.
