I used to buy a lovely katsu curry block but my husband who has a sensitivity to MSG was unable to try it, so I hunted and eventually found this one to try. INCREDIBLE! Tastes just like the one with MSG but this one my husband can enjoy too. I tend to use more than recommended to get a really rich and creamy katsu sauce, but the end result is gorgeous. Sweet, creamy and thick with a lovely strong katsu flavour. Husband says this is the best curry he's ever had. Very easy to cook with, just needing water and a simmer to thicken it up! Fairly recently this was sold out (no surprise) and I was checking every few days to see if it had been restocked again as there is nothing else quite like it. Highly recommend to anyone who loves katsu curry! It's nice not having to sacrifice flavour when you go for something with no MSG.

Absolutely delicious. I used four cubes in ½litre of water and dumped in some leftover rough-cut carrots, onion and celery that were a discarded mire poix from yesterday's beef cheek casserole. Worked a treat. Fried up some chicken oysters that I'd been collecting from chickens I'd butchered myself, plopped them in with the veg and allowed it to thicken. Actually I thickened it a little more with some cornflour slurry. Served with ramen noodle. Delicious and took 10 minutes and used up food that would have been binned. Curry was fragrant, golden, slight kick (so could add some curry powder, or chilli flakes if you want a stronger curry flavour/spice kick). I added a little of the shichimi 7 spices powder to keep the authenticJapanese theme. Not bothered about MSG or gluten free but if you are then that's good for you. Really cheap, two meals for two, per packet, so really cheap addition to the meal for max taste. Don't throw your veg, repurpose it. Curry stock cube! Will buy again.

Don't normally review stuff, but just made these as katsu curry is my sons favourite, they are amazing, flavour is so good, as good as anything we've had in a restaurant, will definitely be buying again.

Found a simple recipe online after coming across these on Amazon, made this golden curry with soy sauce/ grated apple for sweetness and a little ketchup added. Just delicious 🤤 loved it. Will continue to buy these as additive free, on my subscribe & save.

Excellent flavour. Tastes like katsy curry. Not spicy at all. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the instructions aren't great. There is no recommendation about water to curry block ratio. It tells you to "add as much water as you want" but of course if you add loads your curry sauce will be watery. So my recommendation is to start off with just a little water and then add as you go.

Since I don’t eat meat, I needed something quick, healthy, and fuss-free for myself. So I started making this simple broth with tofu, noodles, and a good kick of chilli. And honestly? It’s so good. I’ve ended up making it most days because I just keep craving it. I’ve now stocked up on loads of those broth cubes, so I figured it was time to give them the credit they deserve. Highly recommend if you want something easy and satisfying—bonus points if your kids leave you alone long enough to enjoy it!

Used these for a Japanese veggie curry. Used four in 400 mls of vegetable stock and add 4 cubes to the curry thickens the curry almost instantly. Smell gorgeous and tastes even better.

Delicious, the best katsu sauce I’ve had at home

Its delicious but personally I found myself adding more than the recommended amount just to get it to that delicious state, otherwise it is an amazing product though it has a short shelf life so if you only eat curry twice a month like me then you'll have some issues.

Bon curry japonais, facile à doser avec son format. Cependant je trouve que le cumin est trop présent et qu'il dénature le goût du curry japonais.

Das Curry ist etwas anders von der Konsistenz her als das allseits bekannte golden curry. Die Inhaltsstoffe sind dabei aber mMn wesentlich besser und der Geschmack wirklich gut. Wird wieder gekauft!

Ich wollte eine Alternative zu den klassischen japanischen Curry-Produkten ausprobieren und bin auf das Emma Basic - Curry gestoßen. Es versucht, den Geschmack von japanischem Curry nachzuahmen, kommt aber geschmacklich nicht ganz heran. Das Produkt ist nicht schlecht – die Würze ist angenehm, und es lässt sich gut verarbeiten. Allerdings fehlt mir persönlich die Tiefe, die ich von japanischem Curry gewohnt bin. Trotzdem eine Empfehlung für alle, die Curry ausprobieren wollen und eine einfache, solide Basis
