What is Difference between clear and top coat?

Does this stuff burn when curing? I always get gel at the nail salons and it burns alot when curing

Burning is caused either when the natural nail has been over-prepped, or when the coats of polish are applied too thickly. If your home lamp or the salon lamp doesn't have a low heat setting, place your hand about an inch (2cm) in front of the lamp for a few seconds before placing your hand inside. You can also try placing your hand in the lamp for a second or 2, removing it, and repeating this process a few times before leaving your hand inside
