Love, Love, Love
This product is the best! Fits inside my medium sized backpack folded for easy transport. Fits will in either carry-on or check-in luggage when folded. The cork handle holds up so well, no issues. Very comfortable to carry for a long hike or walk. Love adjustment capability. I am 5.2, and it has a long available adjustment. I like to keep it longer than normal so I walk more upright.I have taken this walking stick to the Baltics and Middle East, into ruins, down into deep stepped, uneven areas, and use it for walks around my neighborhood park. I have put many miles on it and have only had to use the replacement rubber tips 2x (avail separately as a replacement part).I use just one walking stick because I have Vertigo, but keep the 2nd one with me when I travel in case I lose one :).Best product ever!!!

Good quality so far.
I've used these a bunch of times the past few weeks due to a knee injury, and I'm impressed. They work well, they feel good, and no malfunctions at all so far. They're small enough to fit in my backpack, which is important to me. Loving these so far.

Poor assemply control
One pole did not have the clamp that keeps sections together. Bad quality control. Since I was on a long walk, returning the product was not convenient. Solution required duct tape. So much for having a collapsible pole.

Other options for less $$$.
I purchased my wife a less expensive brand that didn't collapse as small and got myself these more expensive ones that fold smaller for hunting trips. Hers were 1/3 the price, are better quality and actually came WITH INSTRUCTIONS and suggestions. Even included a Thank you letter. So far her High Trek poles are a much better value. Not as much plastic on hers either. May get some for myself and keep these as spares.

Affordable, decent quality poles
I've reached the age that parts of me are wearing out and it was suggested that hiking poles would be good for my knees. Before buying any poles I borrowed a pair of Leki poles from a friend, I loved them. Unfortunately when I saw the price to buy some for myself I was dismayed to realize my budget couldn't afford one Leki pole let alone two! I began searching Amazon for collapsible hiking poles and decided to try Montem poles. I've used them on several hikes with both rocky and steep terrains. They collapse/straighten quickly and easily which is important because depending on the terrain I don't always need them. They stow in my day pack and are light weight to carry. The ability to easily collapse was main reason I choose these particular poles and in that respect are similar to the Leki poles. They also have a very handy velcro strap to hold them together while they are folded, something the Leki poles didn't have. I have noticed that the adjustable lock which allows you to lengthen or shorten the poles needs to be re-tightened occasionally. You can tighten them with your hand but using a screw driver or pliers is more effective, although one of the clear plastic screws on mine is already showing signs of some wear. I would say the plastic screws are the biggest drawback. The hand grips on the Montem are comfortable and easy to grip. Another drawback are the webbed tethers, they have a rough edge, I'm not sure if it's the stitching around the webbing or just the edge of the webbing but the first time I used them within just a few miles of use it had rubbed a sore spot on my hand that lasted two days. I have removed the tethers and perhaps will replace them with something else in the future but for now I continue to use them without any tethers at all. Overall I like the Montem poles and am happy with my purchase. For the price, these are some decent quality poles and I recommend them to anyone that needs to take price into consideration.

Joints are the weak spots
I’ve had two pairs, and both of them had issues with the joints being put together. One wouldn’t screw in and would come apart easily, the other wouldn’t go together as the plastic piece was too big. These would be great if they would just work out the quirks. I liked them other than that issue. They can hold a fair amount of weight.

Very cooool
I like these collapsible poles a lot since they keep me from collapsing.Borrowed a friend’s poles to see if they would help my old and faulty hips and they did. But the Montem’s are very handy when grocery shopping, preventing me from inadvertantly clearing shelves with long poles.I would have given a 5-star review, but haven’t used them much yet (‘cause I’m lazy).
