One of my favorite books!
I love this book! It used to be a childhood favorite of mine and I read it over and over. I recently bought it for my 3 month old and can’t wait to make it a classic in our home as well. The story is so cute and the artwork is really interesting and unique! Make sure and get “Edwina the Emu” as well!

A very good lesson for every child to learn
I discovered this book when my kids were young, and it was one of my favorite stories to read to them, and it was one of theirs too. They often got to take turns picking out a book to read before bedtime and this one made it to my lap many many times. Well, over the years, our copy grew tired and ragged and worn, as it traveled from vehicle to vehicle, from house to house, and from beds to toy boxes, to backpacks to bookshelves, somewhere along the way Edward the Emu must have snagged it back home to his zoo. Alas, I could not find it anywhere. All my kids are grown now, and one day as I was searching for something on Amazon, imagine my surprise when I saw none other than Edward the Emu in the search results! I hadn’t been searching specifically for Edward, but I couldn’t resist coming to say hello to an old friend either. Needless to say, I told myself (or else Edward did) that I needed another copy just to have around for nostalgia’s sake. After all, he told me… one day there may be more little ears to hear all about Edward. And so I did… after all, one can hardly resist Edward the Emu.

Beautiful illustrations and a good message
We love this book. We were originally gifted this book from a relative that lives in Australia. Unfortunately after years of hard usage and an accident our beloved copy was damaged. Luckily we found a good deal for a replacement online. The story is sweet, but my favorite are the amazing colored pencil illustrations. My kids are 3,5,8 and I run a home daycare, so I basically read this book often to kids 6 weeks to 8years old and they all enjoy it. We ❤️ Edward!

Great Book - Fun to Read
This is a wonderful book - good illustrations and fun rhymes. I enjoy reading this to my grand children - for the younger ones, you can make the animal sounds and the older ones enjoy the rhythm of the writing.I liked it so much I bought Edwina!

A favorite for reading aloud!
"Edward the Emu was sick of the zoo..." The rhyming, the cadence, the images, the story, the drawings all make this one of my all-time favorites. I love to read it aloud to my girls, and it's one of the first books I loan to a teacher on "sharing day." And how many other books about emus have you ever read? Edward is a dissatisfied emu, always thinking that he's missing out on something better just over in the next zoo enclosure. Eventually, of course, he learns that being what he is is the best thing for him. The up-close style of the drawings brings every feather, every hair, every expression right into your lap. A wonderful book with a wonderful message: be yourself!

Wonderful book - my go-to gift for kids!
This is one of my all-time favourite kids’ books. In fact, I have my own copy, and I always buy it for any children I’m getting gifts for. I think it’s great fun for kids age 2 through maybe even 8 or 9, with its rhyming story, “moral” that being yourself is usually best, and absolutely wonderful illustrations.
