When viewed up close, the dark shading on this shield actually looks like someone took a black sharpie marker to a silver plastic shield and scribbled on it. If I rub my fingers on it hard, they come away with a mild dark tint. It does look okay from a distance, and is otherwise a decent toy/costume shield. I am trying to decide if it's nice enough to give to my nephew.

Bought this for my active 10-year-old to play with. Very flimsy, and it cracked fast with a couple of good whacks from a plastic sword. Clearly meant for costume, and not as a kid's toy, so I blame only myself.

Pretty chintzy. Not that I had high expectations for the price, but the paint job ain't so great.
