Can you use either earbud independently of each other? Like the right one charging in the case and listening to the left one?

I don't think you can use just the left bud. The right one is the main one.

How far away from the phone can you be and still be connected ?

As far i have use them at least 8 meters.

Does the music pause when you remove the buds?

If you are referring to taking them out if your ears, no it doesn't pause then. It does as soon as you put them in the case though. Removing them from the case powers them in, placing back in the case powers off. You can also double tap the left bud to stop/start music.
