Great product and price smells great

Gain Scent Beads and Downy Unstoppables advertise like crazy. I'm sure these are high profit items, probably cost pennies to make. I had never used laundry scents. I always thought of them as unnecessary expense. But I had some towels that got musty and the smell didn't come out after a couple of washings. So, I figured I would just once buy some scent beads and probably never again. But I was surprised to find that yeah, it is kinda nice to have a little fragrance. But I'm not going to pay Downy/Gain prices for the privilege. This seems like it is worth the price. That said, I also tried Arm & Hammer Odor Blasters. It's a little more expensive than the Purex, but seemed to have longer lasting scent. At least at the time I'm writing this, the Purex is 0.19/oz, the A&H is 0.27/oz, compared to Unstoppables at 0.60 to 0.80! Note that these are granules. Smaller than scent beads. That makes it denser per volume. These bottles are heavier for their size than the beads are. So, you probably can use less. As far as how much product I received, each bottle was about 3/4 full. Not completely full but I figure that is how it is supposed to be. They always allow for settling during shipment. Some users said they didn't get a proper amount of product but I believe that I did. I think the normal recommendation is to put the product directly in the washer bin when you start your load. But that seems like most of the product would be rinsed out during the rinse cycle. I do not use fabric softener. I understand that fabric softener is actually detrimental to fabric life. But that means I can put the scent in the softener bin of my washer and use less of the product. I fill my softener bin about half-way with the scent and that gets me what I want while not using a ton of product each time. Therefore, this 4-pack of Purex Crystals should last me a long time. Good value. (But perhaps A&H is even better...)

Consistent fresh sent that last over the course of the year. I make my own laundry soap and use these crystals in it and make a new batch yearly, and the crystals remain just as fragrant at the end of the year as they do on the day I make a fresh batch of laundry soap. They frequently get complimented on the scent of my laundry when people come over and smell our towels or their bed linens.
