This is a great gentle face wash. It does an excellent job removing makeup, sunless tan, and everyday buildup without being harsh on the skin. I have combination skin with dry cheeks, and this face cleanser works well for my skin. The texture is milky cream that doesn’t foam at all. It cleans my skin without leaving dryness afterward which I like especially in these drier weather. It’s definitely a gentle formula that is great for everyday use or when my skin is a bit sensitive. However, I noticed the cleansing power is mot powerful. I mean it’s good for morning cleansing, but not strong enough if I have makeup or sunscreen. On those days, I will use a different cleanser for deeper cleaning. To me I think it’s a good option for people who have dry or sensitive skin that want a mild cleanser to maintains the skin’s moisture. And I like that it’s fragrance free and oil free, it does keep my skin balanced after use.

This is by far the best face wash I’ve ever used. It’s so hydrating and doesn’t make my face feel stripped after using it. I am a big fan of La Roche-Posay products and I am so happy I can get them off Amazon! Fragrance free, no oiliness, and no issues with the pump either. After years of using cleansers that stripped my skin and left my face feeling tight, I wanted to try a cleanser that was gentle and supported my skin barrier. For reference I have fairly sensitive and dry skin and live in a dry climate (Colorado). After trying the La Roche Posay Gentle Cleanser I can attest that it is extremely gentle! It provides minimal cleansing without feeling drying or harsh whatsoever. I was surprised that it didn't lather and it felt like I was rubbing a thick gel around my face. I will say in terms of cleansing power it does do the bare minimum, the formulation feels very basic which can be a pro or con depending on your needs. For me this works well when I double cleanse. I wear makeup and sunscreen, so I oil cleanse first and then use La Roche Posay to remove any residue. I personally don't rely on La Roche Posay to remove anything heavy. But I can see how this simple and gentle formulation is beneficial to anyone who wants to completely avoid irritants. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this to anyone who has really sensitive skin or is trying to repair their skin barrier. It's also a suitable secondary cleanser.
