A nice translation of haTha yoga pradIpikA
This is a nice translation of haTha yoga pradIpikA by svAtmArAma. I am deducting one star because the author doesn't give the padachCheda (sandhi-breakup), anvaya (syntactical connection), and pratipadArtha (word-by-word meaning) of the shlokAs. He only gives the original shloka and its final translation or the bhAvArtha in English. This is usually not a problem because the shlokas in this book are in very simple Sanskrit, but there are places where it can trip you up and you have to resort to guesswork on how the author went from the Sanskrit shloka to the English translation.I wish the author would do a more thorough translation in a future edition. It will make this already good book a great one.

Its a 90% plagiarisation of The Hatha Yoga Pradipika by Pancham Sinh
I have read the The Hatha Yoga Pradipika by Pancham Sinh, which is written in 1914, its a hard read and some times hard to interpret as the translation of sloka is done with minimum words like a notes for those who already understand the concept, no further explanation. So I thought this book will give more details but its just a blatant copy of the same with just some additional photos and illustartions, which you can easily get on the internet, by searching the asana keywords. I read The Hatha Yoga Pradipika by swami mukthibodhananda whis is 100 times better with a good explanation, which was also a pretty old book. I though this book is written recently and might be more practical, but utterly dissapointed to see only sanskrit translations copied from Pancham Sinh book and adding illustrations.

Too costly
Too costly, better buy Gheranda Samhita by Swami Niranjananda Saraswati (yoga publications trust).

The roots of Hatha Yoga
I've learned about this book from numerous references found in other Hatha Yoga related docs. This ancient writing contains the roots of Hatha Yoga teachings and essential practices. One can find inside the path to personal development and spiritual elevation. But be cautions - as instructed be the author himself, some Hatha Yoga technics could be dangerous if done without the guidance of a master.
