This radio works really nice. It is not very deep in size at all because there is no cd player. The bluetooth connects very easily and consistantly. There is one con i would like to point out. There are only a handful of "favorites" buttons for local radio stations. Not really enough at all. The alternate method to get to your stored favorite is to push the button on the very top left of the face and then use the dial to scroll through your favorites. Once you get used to this, it becomes the easiest way to do it.

Great stereo for modernizing older vehicle audio
Updated my 20-year old gen 1 Tacoma that had it's original stereo and I'm enjoying 21st century audio electronics in a prior century vehicle. It has more features and better sound quality than my newer Toyota sedan with a premium sound system. The only downside is that now I don't have a good reason to sell my truck anymore, as the sound system is as good or better than the new vehicles! This model doesn't have a CD player, which is just fine with me. I can play pod casts and music from my newer Android phone via BT.

Only Problem: Unreliable Bluetooth Phone Handling
The stereo was easy to install and had appropriate contents and instructions. I bought this stereo primarily for the use with Bluetooth music playback and phone calling/receiving. The music playback worked well; I didn't have any problems with that.My main concern and why I returned this stereo was because of the unstable and unreliable phone calling and receiving features. I would say about 1/3 of the phone calls that I made or received worked well. I even had an instance where I received a phone call while playing music, and the music was still playing while I was on the phone...it was very disrupting and I had to hang up and call them back not using the bluetooth. Other times, I would receive a phone call, pick it up by pushing the volume wheel, and the person on the call could hear me, but I couldn't hear them. I struggled with this for a couple weeks and am deciding to give up on the product. I will say, though, the seller, Creative Car Audio, gave me no hassle during the return process. I greatly appreciate that.If you don't intend to use phone calling with this product, I'm confident you will be happy with it. My only gripe lies with the bluetooth phone handling features.

Happy
This receiver is very nice. Installation was easy.It has several features that makes it nice and it's easy to customize.Pros:-Decent volume, no distortion-Dimmable screen for driving at night-Easy to install-Easy to navigate through music in iPhoneCons:-Mic included it's not well made and doesn't record with good quality so I can't use it to talk hands free-Ok, it connects automatically to your cellphone, but the thing is, it starts playing automatically at the last volume recorded, that means, if you were blasting heavy metal at a high volume, when you start your car again you might get a heart attack when it starts playing again, you could turn off the auto-connect but it would be a pain in the *** to connect it manually. (This is very annoying, I'd change to 5-star rating if this is changed)-I have noticed that when a 2nd device is paired, then the next time you try to connect the 1st one sometimes it gets errors and stuff. For the price I'm happy with it and I recommend it but, be aware of the cons

JVC Nailed it for a budget friendly head unit!
This product has many features that I was looking for. The Bluetooth works flawlessly and is clear on both ends. Installation was easy with the wiring harness that I purchased separately. About a 30 minute install. For the money I cannot think of any boxes this unit did not check.

JVC KD-X240BT Does not work properly...last just two month of use
I have this JVC KD-X240BT installed on my car, but I am totally disappointed, some times works, some times not...it looks like it works, you can see all in the display, even the menu and all the buttons, but, there is no sound, I start the car, and some times I can hear the music from the stereo, but suddenly, the sound stop, but the display continue playing, is not an issue on my car or speaker, since I have took the stereo apart and connected two external speakers and got the same, some times got sound and some times not...completely disappointed, unfortunately I can not return this item since I send it to El Salvador and having this item back cost more than the price I paid for it, return period due on January, but Amazon (as always has a great support) offered to create a label in order I can return the item, but I think this time is not worth.

Perfect for my application
I wish I would have gone one step up... so I could control the color of the buttons. I have multiple models of this radio in my cars, son's car, etc... the upgraded model is better, spend the extra few dollars.

Generally good but is dimly lit even on highest setting
This is an okay product but not great. The display is dim, the bezel is flimsy and cheap, the hands-free mic is poor (I put it on the steering wheel as close to me as possible, and I am told that my voice projects oftentimes too well, yet people said they could barely hear me. The stereo works fine, but I wish I could charge my phone through the USB without it trying to use the iPod setting (I even tryied changing the setting to Android mode). The reason is that any slight disturbance causes a loss of connection and about 10 seconds or re-establishing it for the iPod playback. I much rather use the Bluetooth setting but the stereo defaults to iPod setting if a USB cable is detected.
