Great for travel and bangs
I bought this mini flat iron for travel and to help with quick touch-ups for my bangs and it works great. I have somewhat thin hair and can easily use it to get my hair mostly straightened, though it probably wouldn't work on really thick hair and does not get hair as straight as my regular size professional-grade straightener. There is just the one setting so you cannot choose the temperature level. I really like that the cord is a decent length so I'm not stuck right next to the wall plug trying to fix my hair. It does heat up fairly quickly so can be used within a minute or so of plugging it in. The case is nice but not heat-resistant; it works for keeping the straightener along with some hair accessories, or maybe a travel brush, together.

Good straightener
I have no complaints, it does what it's supposed to in a nice, convenient size.

Perfect for my short hair needs
I got this straightener because I was sick of using an inch-and-a-half thick straightener to do my bangs in the morning. I wanted something smaller to do my bangs and frame my face. This straightener did the trick. It is so compact and fits easily into its carrying case (perfect for travel!). The only potential issue with it is that there is no automatic shut-off feature. If you are forgetful and tend to leave your straightener plugged in, take caution! I am lucky I have roommates that will unplug this when I forget it. I have left it on (accidentally) for quite some time before and nothing happened, but if you rely on the auto-shut-off feature, that might be a deal breaker for you. I guess also there is no means of adjusting the heat, but I've found the heat is sufficient to straighten (and even curl) my hair. I like this straightener a lot and would recommend it for those looking for an affordable straightener to do touch ups.

I believe this will work for me
I wanted the lightest weight travel flat iron possible. I found this. I tried it in USA and it works with my long hair just fine. I hope it works as well in Africa when I visit. It is tiny and lightweight. It comes with a heat-proof glove which I don't think will be needed.

The price reflects the quality
what I was looking for when I purchased this mini flat iron was a basic flat iron with a medium temperature and thin blades. I have thick short hair that has been thinned and basically only "tame" my long-ish bangs. For the price, I expected nothing fancy. Only usable.Over a couple week's use, I observed the following:1) the iron doesn't heat up enough. Since it doesn't have a temp you can select, it's a guessing game. I believe temp reached 250 or 300 at best. As I mentioned above, the amount of hair I need to straighten is minimal. It definitely wasn't cutting it2) the blades shift from side to side. There is a lot of 'play' at the attachment point which makes it difficult to keep the straightener in proper position while working with it3) the heating elements are rough cut and, when clamped down, will pull hair. Forget the other two 'inconveniences' I listed above. This really proved to be a problem and got worse the more I used the flat iron. The heating elements are inset in the plastic handle and protrude slightly higher then the handle itself. The ends of the elements aren't polished and the glaze has peeled off, revealing jagged silver edges that, when pressed together, will not allow for hair to slide smoothly in between and will instead pull. I have attached some pictures.I was bummed. At first I thought maybe these mini-irons are just not as quality as the larger units I have owned before. After a couple weeks of use, I could no longer deal with it and returned the flat iron. I did purchase another product (the mini-Red) which I absolutely love and it was only a few dollars more.

Not enough heat - unable to use
This flat iron is indeed very compact. I took it abroad for a 2 week trip however this did not heat up to 400 degrees at all - it barely heat up to 300. I tried to do my hair one of the nights and spent 30 minutes trying to use it, after that I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and left my hair natural. If your hair is on the thin side then this level of heat may be fine - but as I have slightly thicker hair with slight waves, this did not work for me.

Hair slips out too easily
Much smaller than I thought and you can only curl 1in. of hair at a time.

Great!
I have very fine and thin naturally straight hair so I thought this would be perfect as typically my hair is fairly low maintenance and easy to flat iron. It did arrive very quickly after ordering and it is very cute. I really like the purple color and the case it comes in although wish that was heat protectant so you could put it away while hot. It is very small and compact so if it works well for your hair it will work well for travel. Excellent customer service and quick response time if you have any questions or issues!
