This is a great smoker! It works well and the meat comes out tasting amazing.

Build quality is quite good. Assembly was straight forward. Operationally, I would like to have seen a slightly better door seal, as it leaks some smoke. And the chip tray is not sealed, so it too leaks some smoke. Smoking in 15-20 degF it is a little challenging to maintain a 250F cabinet temp, but doable with the gas cranked to the max. Other than those items, no complaints! We’ve smoked ribs, pork butt, and chuck roast so far, and while we’re figuring out the science of smoking meat, we are pretty pleased!

I’m reviewing The Pit Boss vertical smoker, and I must say it looks great. The front glass lets you monitor your food without opening the door, which helps maintain heat. Cleaning is a breeze since the racks slide out easily, and the overall build quality feels solid—not cheap and flimsy. Plus, the temperature control is precise, and the wood chip tray is conveniently accessible. With ample cooking space for multiple racks, it’s perfect for any outdoor cooking enthusiast. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase!

Used it for the 1st time last week. Worked great smoking steelhead trout.

Heat temp is max 265F. Received with a rusted corner and the corner doesn’t sit on the base well making it hard to move. There’s screws that appear to be stripped and the temp gauge after using it one time is filled with condensation. I don’t know if I just received a defective smoker but I’m certain this thing is going to have continuous issues.

I have had 4/5 different smokers. The window viewer and ease of operation is great. If you get it for the right price it is a solid 5 star. Just buy it at the right price. I love it

So of course to start with its a cheap smoker so you have to accept it won't be the best thing out there but you still expect certain things. Cons 1. The door came scuffed up yet the box was perfectly fine...either the quality control at pitboss is horrible or this is a return masking as new. 2. the door seal was a joke, leaks everywhere. Going to try and fix this with a lavalock gasket 3. Just might be my preference but I wish the wood chip holder opened at the handle so you didn't have to completely remove it to reload chips. 4. Grease leaked down onto the wood chip holder, missed the water pan all together and crusted up on top of it which cause a bit of an issue pulling the tray in and out...going to investigate how that happened. 5. The gas knob is very cheap plastic. Positives 1. I felt assembly was easy and the instructions were correct. 2. Even with the seal leak the temperature was controllable for the most part 3. Decent space inside for the small form factor Overall it should work for me for the time being and is an ok smoker for a beginner....I do see why people pay a lot for the great smokers though.

The smoker looks and works Great, haven't stopped smoking meat since we got it, absolutely love it!!
